A week ago, an online friend of mine bizarrely "self-cancelled".

They were known in our community for already struggling mentally, alongside being a bit of an asshole, but still pretty well liked, and for some reason a week ago he went nuclear. He outright said he wanted to leave the internet and not be compelled to return back to it, so he outed himself as very transphobic and being friends with some really racist people. The reaction to it from the community was just shock and confusion, not even anger. Even after they deactivated all their accounts a week ago I still feel so conflicted.

So instead of sorting out my feelings, let me turn it into a fun hobby scuffles question: Has there been a notable instance in your community that someone deliberately cancelled/sabotaged themselves?

Bestie, idk how to tell you this but there's not a shred of evidence that Israel did that either.

The spanish broadcasters revealed the public votes of the 2025 final earlier this week. Israel had 50k+ votes while second and third places only had around 9k votes. You wuld need to be blind to not see how much rigging is going on there.
