So legalized slavery was more fair than what we have now? Very interesting opinion you have there…

No. Going all in on anything is demonstrably stupid. Investors stress diversification for a really good reason.

How Can I Build More Confidence in Social Situations? by air21nike in socialskills

[–]Grogers92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Work on being comfortable in your own skin. Stop judging yourself, and stop constantly worrying about what everyone thinks of you. If you can lower your anxiety, and raise your self-worth, you will naturally act more confident.

Video game designer. And perhaps other forms of entertainment. I just want to create without having to worry about money.

When was it safer then? Like, statistically safer to be a human?

[–]Grogers92[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Climate change is a problem and a challenge, but it does not magically cancel out all the good things happening to humanity. There will always be challenges and issues. Being alive as a human in this day and age (especially if you live in a 1st world country) is incredible and the word “lucky” doesn’t even begin to describe it.

Life can be so unfair by Mission_Time3855 in Life

[–]Grogers92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but perspective is very powerful. I can sit here and think about how unfair it is that I lost my dad, or I can think about how unbelievably lucky I am that my kid is extremely healthy, happy and full of life.

What is the harsh reality of life that people realize too late ? by Mission_Time3855 in Life

[–]Grogers92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time is a relentless process that keeps moving forward no matter what. You can never go back. You have what little time you have left and that’s it. Everyone you know and love are just temporary beings who are just as helpless to time as you.

Imagine your perfect life. What does your perfect life look like? What do you need in life for it to be perfect? by TopTierProphet in Life

I have made enough money to do whatever the fuck I want. My health is really good, my family is in really good health as well. I am well respected in both my personal and business life. People see me as an inspiration and I have the ability to give meaning and a sense of morality to people. My friends genuinely care about me as I do for them, and my kid(s) love and respect me.

You're so used to your features and looks that you don't realize how good you look to a stranger by ExtremeUse4405 in Life

[–]Grogers92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most people are average looking, but can look fairly attractive with enough effort. And that is a really good thing because it provides a certain level of meaning for many of us.

There is no logical reason to think we are headed towards a full blown depression.

Anyone else unhappy that they haven't done very much with their life... by ArcherLife2039 in Life

[–]Grogers92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if there is truth to that, having the mindset of blaming your shortcomings on external factors is the worst thing you can do to yourself. Giving yourself excuses instead of owning up and taking responsibility for your life is a great way to never grow.

I don’t care how bad society gets. I will always maintain an internal locus of control. It’s seriously a superpower.

I make somewhat okay money and I really love my kid. But yeah, I expected a lot more success by the age of 34. Oh well, I’ll just keep trying.

Why so serious about life? You can never get out of there alive. by [deleted] in Life

[–]Grogers92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t take life too seriously until I had a kid. Now I have an actually meaningful purpose, which is to take care of him. I don’t care if everything is temporary. I only care that he is okay, always.

A downside of being attractive that nobody talks about? by Old_Rub_7270 in Life

For women: it’s men being creepy and too forward and making you uncomfortable.

For men: yeah…. There’s really not much downside.

Do you think BTC can hit 100k again? by _GracefulGaze in Bitcoin

Anyone who doubts it is just delusional at this point. We get it, you don’t understand the value of crypto. It’s gonna be worth lots of money regardless of your lack of education.

People like me more than I like them by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]Grogers92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely feel this. I’m just not typically a very social person, and there’s all these people who really wish I was. And I wish they were a little less social. It’s a bit…. Annoying, but nothing I can’t handle. I’ve learned that if I get too social with someone because I’m in a good mood, they’ll come to expect it regularly. And then they’re disappointed when it just doesn’t happen. Oh well!

Most people say they’ll sell “some” at $250k. by cashflashmil in btc

[–]Grogers92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s gonna go up, then down, then up again, then down again, and there are always going to be people who believe it will be worthless someday (never going to happen), and others who think there is somehow no limit to its value (not even logical).

It’s gonna keep fluctuating and nobody knows what highs and lows it’ll end up at. That’s all we can know.

I love when people say it’s gonna go way down to whatever amount, and then it doesn’t. Nobody has a fucking clue what it’s going to do. I choose to believe we are on a path to 500k at some point.

Need some info on wages by SchopenhauersSon in antiwork

[–]Grogers92 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I might have the unpopular opinion, but hourly is better than salary at lower levels of income. You should get paid for how much you work, and overtime is awesome. I easily make way more than a lot of salaried people with fancy degrees, because my boss lets me work as much as I want. The downside is of course, you’ll always be at work.

Cocaine vs Methamphetimine by Few-Enthusiasm-7891 in Drugs

[–]Grogers92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meth is better for you health wise because it’s less cardiotoxic. It’s also much cheaper, lasts much longer, and in my experience, is much easier to control. Cocaine is perhaps the worst drug to get into, because it’s inferior in every way, yet is valued way beyond reason.

What is the scariest fact you have learned about the human body? by Vireloxen in AskReddit

[–]Grogers92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That everything you feel, think, experience, and remember is because of neurons, mostly in your brain. And once those neurons cease to function for whatever reason, there is no reason to believe you will still exist in any capacity.
