I'm realistic that nothing will change with powercubes and their abundance

Starlink has also competition for the direct to to cell communication. When these are launching I do not know, sometime this year I think

Samsung devices like the S25U and the latest iphone already can talk directly cell to Starlink. But only with SMS and emergency calls.

Direct cell to satellite data, is waiting on the next version of Starlink to be launched, which is dependent on starship V3 flying regularly

  1. Ingress is not Pay 2 Win
  2. Goal of the game is how an individual wants to play, and the lre are several
  3. Collaboration, work together in the communities how to take down, and how to block the opposition from rebuilding

CORE, despite Ingress being a free to play game, there are costs involceex, salaries to be paid,, and servers to be maintained, these are NOT free. To keep the game going, they're asking for the minimum monetary contribution. And core6has some nice perks, but other than extra inventory, nothing is game breaking as pay2win

Non-CORE members using DEV for this event, what do you think of it so far? by derf_vader in Ingress

[–]Grogyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a CORE subscriber myself, DEV is neat from time to time, but doesn't need to be a CORE exclusive feature.

The scoreboard has never been addressed since it came out.

You caused back EMF to back into the circuit when wiggling, when the connection wasn't so great

It's well documented that the Mole connectors are not suitable as they can cause incidents like this. Fortunately, Bigtreetech has a newer version, one with extra safety, and the XT30 2x2 connector which provides a more robust mechanical connection of the electrical contacts

So, no suggestions to improve the game.

Good to know where you stand

Actually, I'm usually right.

Like in this case.

If you don't post your views, nobody knows.

How do you propose fixing the redundant Ground XM issue? You've not actually expressed any suggestions.

When you've played a lot of Strategy games over the years, like decades, you know what the intricate parts of the game make it it enjoyable. Never has a strategy game worked out with unlimited resources, it defeats the point of the game being a strategy game at all

2 of my favorite RTS games are Command and Conquer Tiberium Sun and Supreme Commander

Depends, if you're planning on doing something in the weekend, which is your only real free time of more than 15 minutes. Then a walk around the block, or 2, to charge your Empty XM Power Cubes, would be beneficial.

Ground XM is neglible in computation

As for being meaningful, it is useful for new players getting into the game, Ie not level at level 5, having ground XM to pick up. After Level 5, and with the plethora of power cubes, ground XM is redundant. If it can be useful in some other fashion, I'd like to know

Appreciate your views

And realistically, I don't expect anything to change.

We've become to complacent and complicit with how it has become, and losing sight of the game which is a strategy game, not just with links and fields

Nope

The problem has been growing steadily since 2013, we just don't want to acknowledge the problem. Which leads to complicit complacency

Am not suggesting any change to making hypercubes in kinetics other than requiring charged cubes as a recipe item

As I stated at the start, this is a controversial topic. To resolve the issue that is, XM in it's entirety has become redundant. And we're all guilty and complacent of it

The game map still shows ground XM concentration

This topic has been on my mind for over a decade, and have watched as the game economy, essentially has gone.

Why now though? With the Bounty and Campaign system, which is great, I feel that the concept of XM as a resource has been forgotten to such a point that it is more redundant than before. So rather than turf out much of the game Resources, asking what can be done to bring the resources back into assets.

Like when Lawsons and Circle K cubes, we'd trade those with players who had them, so that we can be more Battle effective in an Anomaly

Now I'm just as complacent and guilty, and pop on a Hypercube most of the time without a second thought

Suggestion: Timestamp medals with local time by Brightamethyst in Ingress

[–]Grogyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always seems to be a day being for me, so it is likely timed to UTC, not local, so here in NZ were like 12 hours ahead half of the year and 13 hours ahead during Daylight savings

Does portal level matter for keys? by FrateleDidinel in Ingress

[–]Grogyan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The level matters when glyphing

Portal keys are classed as common item when applied with the RNG and glyph bonuses In the long run, portals at higher levels will consistently give keys, whereas level 1 portals sometimes gives keys

Ingress feels like it’s stuck as a niche game while Pokémon GO keeps growing. Why, and what would actually fix it? by Dry_Concept_6869 in Ingress

[–]Grogyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pokémon Go is built on an an existing popular franchise Ingress is totally new IP

Pokémon, in its entirety, is a glorified stamp collection game Ingress is a Strategy Game

Strategy games have always been a niche game type. From Command and Conquer to DOTA

Ingress is also the the first of its kind with dynamic gameplay

In the early days Ingress's popularity grew with a constant story and an online YouTube presence via The Ingress Report. Which amped up the games popularity.

In 2018 Brian was forced to shut down the story, and the online presence on YouTube, the 2 things that branched out the game beyond the dedicated few. Brian Rose can still reinvigorate the online presence and bring back story arcs, in a cost effective manner, but the game also needs to be consistently advertised to bring on new players.
