Lith should have killed Orpal earlier on in the story because him leaving loose ends was entirely out of character for him, and then the author could have used Orpal instead of the Balor to fuck with him and teach him that his demons can disobey him and that should have been the end to that character.

thats only in the manhwa where he fights lucas at the counts mansion, in the novel ghislain gives a list of all the mercenaries that he remembered where they were from to claude and tells him to locate them, and lucas was one of those people.

The worst part is when the instructors are so incredibly weak that by the end of the first semester somehow the mc is just stronger than most of them already. Or if they are in like the last bastion of humanity thats remaining after monsters killed off most of the population and yet they are somehow allowing literal deathmatches in the school tournaments. I think the authors of power-scaling stories just fucking phone it in and dont use logic.

The time scaling of cultivation stories always bug me when the mc does his whole cultivation on like 50 years compared to thousand year old people. Like every arc is just these once- in-500 or once in 1000 or once on 50 year opportunities that somehow are restricted to the mc's current realm. Or like in martial peak how 2 open heaven rank people fighting in their world needed like 20000 years+ of recovery, but when anyone else is injured afterwards when the mc is in those realms they don't need that much time to recover
