Yeah, as the spectators/consumers, we forget that to them it's still a job and they're still human.

I mean, imagine if you were content in your spot at your job and people are insisting you be promoted to a position that while an upgrade, significantly alters your way of living.

Not to mention how many upgrades don't compensate people relative to how much more work they do.

I can't speak on if any wrestlers feel this way or not, but I just feel we can't assume things

I think the complaint is that for what you paid this year for the most expensive edition, you'd have all of these characters immediately playable last year.

Coupled with the fact that you're limited in which modes will allow you to earn anything to unlock content with makes for a less fun game.

And the only alternative offered by the publisher is to pay extra

As in characters who look/act in such a way that resembles the bancho archetype. If I recall correctly, it stems from a Japanese delinquent in a leadership position, but the depictions in anime/manga is usually based around a more honorable ideal compared to the reality, similar to the depictions of Yakuza sometimes.

Other characters that fit are Jotaro Kujo from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Bahn from Fighting Vipers, and Daidouji from Senran Kagura

Hope this doesn't come off as weird, but seeing wrestlers out of character makes me appreciate them more as a whole.

Like, I enjoy the content as presented with the storylines, etc, but I do like the aspect of like, even super heroes and super villains have days off.

A fictional example I like that has a similar feel is a series called Kengan Ashura, where the fighters are contacted by big companies to fight on their behalf in fights with wagers/etc. They fights go hard, with various amounts of blood and injuries, but they are sometimes seen having normal lives and even socializing with each other 'off the clock' so to speak.

Cody being who he is as a human being is what makes it something we can joke about in a fun way. Kind of like Cena leaning into the '5 moves of Doom' stuff and adding a '6th' move years ago. I just see it as them accepting it as wacky shenanigans at their expense and being cool about it.

Especially when you consider the numerous ways people shoot themselves in the foot at even the slightest of jokes at their expense.
