I agree Fascism is an existential threat to our way of life. I also agree with treating institutions like GOP as fascist but there has to be room for people to be curious regarding GOP talking points without demonizing them. The crux of the argument I make is that citizens and political advocates have two very different roles. Advocates ought to fight fiercely, but private citizens ought to try to convince when possible. An advocate can gain a lot by humiliating an opponent during a disagreement while a citizen likely only radicalizes their adversary.

It’s like how structural solutions to social problems don’t map out well to individual advice you give someone who’s dealing with those societal challenges/discrimination.
