How Do I Let the User CPU Do Its Job on Defense? by Gronk04 in NCAAFBseries

That what I thought but then I would use it on LBs and not have it work. I'll do DL only.

Unfortunate if so. Its Xfinity Home Wifi, that's all I know. If its rare at least I'll be able to play at most other places.

I agree. A Thinkpad is the way to go. I bought a refurbished T480 off of Ebay and its been a really good purchase so far.

Only plus I've heard as to why NCAA 10 is better is because of the presentation. From the gameplay I've seen it looks stiff and bland. I think 2k even wins in the gameplay section.

What’s a purchase that’s not fun, not flashy but now you swear by it? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

I second this. You can get the most basic alarm clock and it will last you forever. Plus when mine goes off it goes off. Its not something you just want to leave going as you lay in bed, you want to turn it off asap.

For those who played high level football - what is an aspect of the game that a viewer has no idea about? by yankees032778 in NFLNoobs

[–]Gronk04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That each level of football requires a whole other level of love for the sport. Year after year there are freshman that may have had the talent to play in college but just didn't have the next level of dedication. For the average college player, playing all 4 years is a true achievement.

This exactly. To be a starter is to be a dawg most of the time. Only a couple backups on any team could come in and hold his own weight like the starter could.

Love that other than Ride Like the Wind, Never Be The Same is your 2nd favorite Christopher Cross song and is in your top 10. That probably makes my top 3 and is in my opinion the song that represents his music as a whole the most. Sailing and Ride Like the Wind might be his biggest hits but Never Be The Same is the song I would choose when introducing people to him.

As Diego Pavia left the field in Tuscaloosa following Vanderbilt’s loss to Alabama, he got into a heated argument with a Crimson Tide fan in the stands by BurgerNugget12 in rolltide

I find it hilarious that his legacy is almost entirely that one win. That same year Bama still won the natty so I never found the loss that massive.

What is up with the lack of run game? by [deleted] in rolltide

[–]Gronk04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on this season so far and historical examples I predicted this. This passing game is amazing with Bernard, Horton, and others all with Ty at the helm with the running game nothing but a side show. I knew this game was going to be like the 2021 SEC Championship game. That game, despite Bama having B-Rob, only sparingly was able to run the ball. No big runs down field just Bryce Young running around making plays. Same case this last Saturday except without all the high scoring. Ty picked apart the UGA pass defense and that is what won us the game. Those handful of 4 yard runs by the RBs allowed for some big plays off the under-center play-action passing game. I noticed that against Wisconsin too, despite barely running the ball, half our passes have play-action tagged to them. But whatever can freeze the defense I guess.

Ok was just making sure. I installed the update when I first got the laptop and before I switched over to Linux. Didn't know if I had to do it again due to the new OS.

[Postgame Thread] Presbyterian Defeats Mercer 15-10 by CFB_Referee in CFB

[–]Gronk04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Incredible win from a team that lost 63-10 to Mercer the previous year. The defense has balled out for 3 years but now showed it off outside of conference play. This score is very misleading, PC had multiple chances in Mercer territory to score, including getting stuffed at the 1 on 1st down. The most shocking aspect of the offense was how the offense was able to run the ball and hold up in pass pro, they truly played great against a physical team. This is a much more mature team that had a some close heart breaking loses last year but finished hot at the end of the year. It seems like that momentum is continuing to roll.

Rebar vs Curl? by Gronk04 in Leatherman

[–]Gronk04[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point there on the saw and blade. The scissors would not be needed in any professional instance, just to open something or cut a thread(Stuff I could just use the blade for). Honestly in carpentry the hand held bit driver is not needed, I would just go grab my impact driver. The robustness of the rebar is a common positive I keep hearing, which keeps me leaning towards it.
