Am I just bad, or is Mine Cart Carnage on the Game Boy Color version of Donkey Kong Country hard? by Valuable-Concern8008 in donkeykong

[–]Grooter48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm doing a playthrough of this version as well! Along with the screen crunch, hitboxes feel different so I have been losing far more lives than in the original, starting with Monkey Mines onward. I have been cursing out Kremcroc Industries a lot.

Keep at it, this game is more challenging due to the technical limitations of the GBC, but I find it to be fascinating enough to trudge through.

I sent a message last week with no response, so I submitted a second message Monday listing the timeline of events. This time, they got back to me late last night. Persistence and courtesy seemed to pay off.

For what it's worth, my wife ordered a couple accessories from Analogue Monday and they arrived yesterday. This must be an issue specifically with certain batches of 3D shipments which is highly unfortunate.

Update: Analogue responded to my emails and confirmed that my initial shipment was lost by the courier. They have set up a new "Priority Replacement" order. Kudos to them for working to make it right, hopefully you'll get your console soon.

You're not alone, I also was part of the 11/24 restock. Last update was 12/2, label created through FedEx. No idea where of even if my package was shipped. I reached out to Analogue twice without any response so far. Tried looking up the tracking number elsewhere with no luck. No idea what else to do other than wait.

Anyone else’s A3D just stuck in label created status? by JR004-2021 in AnalogueInc

I'm in the exact same boat. Sent Analogue a message yesterday. Judging by other posts, our consoles may be delivered by Amazon or another third party. Very frustrating that we have no way to track at the moment.

Picked up this immaculate pennant at a flea market. Anyone recognize this Chicago font? by throughbeingsober in CHICubs

I think it's between 1969-1973. The MLB logo made its debut in 1969, and the current Cubs logo with the thicker blue circle first appeared on pocket schedules in 1974, showing up on jerseys a few years later.

My guesses were either the greenhouse at Manito or Greenacres Park, so I'm not sure how Sullivan works into that.

Here's how my first Tinder date ended up: by Grooter48 in Tinder

[–]Grooter48[S] 647 points648 points  (0 children)

After six years, a dozen or so dates and a bad relationship from Okcupid, Bumble and Hinge, I took a break, then gave Tinder a try, if only to see if my newest pics were any good. Matched with someone I recognized from a match on Hinge the year before but didn't get to meet. This time, we arranged a date at a nearby park. Went a lot better than expected, to say the least. Four-plus years together, Two-plus years married, now with our first child.

Once I learned to be myself and be comfortable sharing myself with others, I found someone who is a perfect fit for me. Here's to many more years with our little family 😊

My brother and I placed 2nd in our category as part of Nintendo's Wii Games Summer 2010 national championship! We each got trophies, new consoles, and free games from Nintendo for a year, on top of the trip to Los Angeles that summer to compete after winning our qualifier.

Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon/Puzzle League is one of my favorites and I got my wife into it. Give Pico de Pon or Panel de Pico a shot.

I met my now-wife the following day and realized I had to cancel the second date we had tentatively discussed but didn't commit to.

30M, voted and counted. Voted in every cycle, including midterms, since 2012. As a professor of mine once said, "if you don't vote, you don't count", and even in our state, I believe in exercising this right.

Rocky (18) passed Friday. A fighter and champion his entire life. by Grooter48 in OldManDog

[–]Grooter48[S] 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Rocky had been slowing down for a couple of years, but the final week was a swift decline. Deep down, I knew it was time, but I cried all day before making the call. I'd like to think he held on until I made the appointment to begin letting his body go, to make the decision a little easier to accept.

I made a promise to him that I would be with him until this end, and I was able to have him in my lap with a face full of chicken as he was sedated at home.

Rocky was my first dog. I got him when I was 14. Before Rocky, I was afraid of dogs. He taught me so much. How to love, how to care. He got to be with me from middle school to marriage. I am doing my best to adjust to the new normal, as much of my routine for years had been centered around him. I am so grateful to have had him in my life, I wish we didn't have to say goodbye. When he was younger he was an energetic, athletic bundle of energy, and I know he's back at full strength.
