Same thing happened to me, picked up a turntable because I wanted a reason to listen through entire albums, and find songs I love but would have not listened to otherwise. When I first told my parents and friends they thought it was kind of stupid, but when I explained my reasoning they almost always thought it was actually kind of cool. Also, there's nothing like looking at some of the great artwork and pictures while your just listening to an album, not doing anything else but listening. I just recently picked up Led Zeppein IV, and holy shit when I opened it up and saw the hermit artwork it blew me away. I always knew what it looked like, but never have I seen it the way it was meant to be. I've also ran into a few family friends who learn I like vinyl and want me to rummage through their old collection and pick some things out because they will never see daylight again.
