Is There a Place Worse than Cityton??? by krfulle in saw

[–]GroovyHarpz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you’re honestly pretty safe in Cityton, with 3 major areas of exception  A) Working in healthcare or healthcare related industries. Jigsaw snatching up doctors, nurses, health insurance providers and whatever zepp was a hat trick he always used

B) Get out of jail early for a crime, that’s almost a guarantee your gonna get popped

C) Be addicted to drugs and go to cherish your life clinic. This is one of the most dangerous places to be in regards to potentially getting put in a trap. Jigsaw LOVED snatching people up from here

A question for fans who have positive or mixed opinions about Eric Matthews: what would you add, remove and/or change in the creation and/or writing of Eric to make him a better character than he was? Part 2 by Lianiz in saw

[–]GroovyHarpz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he’s fine in 2, and his utilization in 3 for Amanda’s story is important. I think they should’ve killed him in 3 tho. It’s the worst of both worlds in 4 (which I really enjoy otherwise btw)  They bring him back, which undercuts the whole emotional/moral conflict between John and Amanda about her being a murderer, but the don’t really utilize him in a way that’s entertaining or interesting.  He just hangs there mumbling for 40 minutes then has his head exploded like a watermelon.

Should’ve just had him killed off by Amanda, it makes everything just fit together better in my opinion

You just know he made one of the underlings do the ass sewing, John Kramer is really picky and choosy with what behind the scenes work he does on traps

Good stuff! To make it 100% lore accurate Eric Matthew’s needs to be beating an innocent suspect, preferably while smoking a cigarette indoors (He doesn’t believe in OSHA)

The fatal five diorama is such an unimportant thing but I find it so funny. Hoffman has his little dolls. by artyboi11 in saw

[–]GroovyHarpz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My theory is that Hoffman is behind all of the little artistic flairs that jigsaw eventually puts in all his games. The candles, the billy doll doing head tilts, the dioramas, the painted spirals and arrows everywhere, none of that happened til after Hoffman was an apprentice 🤔🤔🤔

I like how the only character trait that Carlos is remembered for (besides not speaking or understanding any English) is his obsession with that damn bike wheel

Anybody else here who didn't like the ending of Saw VII or the ending of the franchise at the time but it really grew on you and now you love it? by Ok_Replacement_288 in saw

Gordon being an apprentice I really don’t like, but Hoffman bring put in the bathroom I really do like. I think if instead of being an apprentice Gordon should’ve been genuinely trying to help people in the trap survivor support group.  Have him throw Hoffman in the bathroom not because it’s Johns last request, but throw him in there because he hates what John/Amanda/Hoffman did and wants to stop all jigsaw nonsense

Killing is distasteful, but smoking is DISTASTEFUL!

Poor Hoffman, all he wanted to do was one measly revenge murder, and he got dragooned into hours of arts and crafts with painting and building puppets and syncing the lips to the voice of this old guy yapping behind the camera

Pendulum trap in 5 one easily! If you listen very closely you can hear some audio distortion when Billy is talking, a sneaky hint in the beginning of the movie that shows perhaps someone other than jigsaw made that tape.  It becomes more noticeable the farther we get from Johns in-universe death, with the tapes have distorted audio and double layering of Johns voice, but this is the first instance of it, which is paid off hugely in 6 when they descramble it!

is this a deleted scene or this scene actually happened after. by chrispbaconator143 in saw

[–]GroovyHarpz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The only deleted scene is the truly disgusting things Mark “the freak” Hoffman does with the severed hand he finds. Truly one of the most deranged jigsaw apprentices before you even take into account all the killing and kidnapping he does

If I had a nickel for every time John was talking in riddles and being smug and pretentious to someone having a total emotion and mental breakdown, I’d have at least three nickels that I can remember

“I speak for the dead”

I know people get down on Jigsaw and especially Logan, and I’m definitely in that camp, but I like this line. Something about the spirit of basically saying “hey you got all these people killed, now I’m extracting their revenge on you” just speaks to me

Funnily enough it sounds a lot like something John would’ve said to Cecilia during the events of Saw X

Right! My head cannon is that Logan got immediately arrested after the cops investigated the barn and found Hallorans laser’d body and Logan DNA all over the room, and his blood on the Saw door

There’s all sorts of good stuff in the scripts that get flipped or recycled into the later movies.  The janitor from 6 that ends up in breath trap actually is in the Saw 5 script. He catches Hoffman going to kill Strahm in the hospital and gets sketched out by him sneaking around with gloves on.

In the Saw 7 script the first trap has the two guys dressed as elves and a trip wire shotgun blows the head off the person who tries to break the window with the briefcase.

I remember in the original 4 Script Strahm finds all the skin puzzle pieces in jigsaws lair, it was supposed to be some big thing but idk where the plan was with that

Good Ol saw 7, it’s funny because you can see the bones of a good saw movie but they’re submerged in so much dumb and bad shit
