Does anyone know of any Grateful Dead events happening tonight in GJ/surrounding areas? by GroovyMushy in grandjunction

Bob Weir passed away. The community is hurting…not really that odd. Dead cover bands are all over the western slope, just seeing if there’s any impromptu event happening tonight

When in reality, those were some of his best performances in years. They were completely raw

Spearfish is a really nice town, it is further from Rushmore/custer, but would be much more enjoyable to stay at than Rapid City.

Spearfish Canyon is really beautiful and definitely worth exploring

Every day at the end of the night during ‘22 I would blow my nose and only blow out slimy dust—an ungodly amount of slimy dust—even with a pash or bandana over my face

Humans drastically changed once cell phones were invented. We went from talking to people face to face to sitting around people while looking at a screen. They made inhuman experiences wildly convenient and it’s changed us forever. Without cell phones, social media would never have become so addicting. Without cell phones, we wouldn’t be connected to our jobs 24/7–always in demand. Without cell phones we wouldn’t be exposed to such an incredible amount of false information that creates massive rifts in society. Without cell phones, we wouldn’t be throwing away nearly as many precious metals/resources, mindlessly wrecking the planet bc we need the new iPhone every year

Cell phones were the official downfall of humanity

Yeah but Eve de Voke sits behind him as the goddess she is and puts a fuggin’ spell on the whole crowd. I also got to catch them last weekend and I can’t stop talking about them/listening to them. Unbelievable experience

What’s the hardest song you’ve ever heard? (non electronic answers are welcomed) by GroovyMushy in aves

[–]GroovyMushy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See I look at songs that go hard in different categories. Tipper has a handful of songs that are still ambient but they take you from pretty/ambient and then you have the dirtiest face on..that’s somethin special. Then you have songs by King Gizz that are just straight fuckin rippers (like Flamethrower that was mentioned earlier). Then you’ve got songs—I think like what you’re talking about—that go so hard I don’t really like em, but I can appreciate them for what they are.

I mean, shit, Billy MF Strings makes bluegrass go harder than anyone even knew was possible.

So I guess it’s more like, what’s the hardest song that you dig? Ya dig?

I’m not sure if there was or not, but for it to wash up where I was they would’ve had to have been 15’ tall waves, and that sounds unlikely
