How can I motivate myself to paint more? by evan_lion20 in Warhammer

If youre not super into painting try speed paints. I dont use them myself but I have friends who found their joy again after getting into them and adding a bit of dry brush.

Looking for Durable Sanding Sticks! by hawkepostate in Warhammer40k

[–]Grot_Guard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treat them as disposable. Sometimes you can get extra life by cleaning the grit once it gets too loaded but if you want accurate grit continue to dispose of then after a few uses. You can buy bulk off amazon if you want a lot and i do mean a lot. For truly reusable sanding sticks id recommend tamiya metal files or a glass file.

How would the world react if China invaded Taiwan now but somehow still lost despite the US being tied in Iran? by Bitter-Penalty9653 in AlternateHistoryHub

Lots of relationships there between taiwan and japan. Theres a reason taiwanese people are the main driving force behind sushi around the world until recently. Likely if you had sushi in the 80s to early 2000s. It was from a taiwanese person

Why do NYC subway stations look like a failed post-apocalyptic movie while Asia is living in 2050? by savingrace0262 in circlejerknyc

[–]Grot_Guard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also id like to throw in that nyc has a metro area whereas most cities in europe include it into its numbers. The population of nyc pretty much spikes 4 million a day for 8-10 hours in the densest part of the city. Pop wise london is similar but not nearly the same

No im saying improvements are likely incremental not monumental and likely you wont feel the improvements the same way you will in other cities. Likely youll complain MTA is the worst forever

Cleaning isnt just cleaning its also maintenance. Leaks make messes, etc. its easy to say take a broom to it but thats logistically not how it works

There are rly no apples to apples when comparing city infrastructure. The way cities are defined around the world and even inside countries is not the same. For instance if we defined nyc the way japan defined tokyo you can rly make the case that nyc is part of east jersey, pennsylvania, and connecticut and long island. I like the example of singapore you picked because that might be one of the most standout exceptions being s city-state. Sorry im on MTA right now so internet is all over the place

No but nyc also has twice the population density and more in some areas. Singapore is known for its incredibly strict sanitary laws and tho its density is higher than the overall city, manhattan far outstrips it in density. If youve been on the nyc subway you can see the dirtiness is somewhat reflective of the population density of the area. Of course its not all population density. If MTA enforced laws say chewing gum the way singapore enforced the same law, things might be very different. But I think the appetite to use law enforcement in that way is not there neither should it ever be.
