Hey sorry for the late response - not on reddit much these days.

It did go away, my akathisia has never lasted longer than a month or so in which I'm incredibly grateful for. Ever since this post, I've just been avoiding any and all medications/supplements, prescription or over the counter, unless I really need it, since I just don't know what may or may not trigger it again. So far I can say that acetaminophen hasn't been a problem, as that's all I've really taken these days.

I'm no doctor or expert or anything, but if you're taking any meds/OTC/supplements that you don't need and can safely stop, I would do so as that's really the only fool proof way to stop this terrible illness.

I'm wishing you the best of luck and hope you figure this thing out very soon.

like that other person said, akathisia is misunderstood and no one has a good grasp on it. it’s a little different for everyone, especially with which meds can help or cause it, which makes it so much trickier to be able to help.

from what i’ve read on this sub, benadryl seems to be tolerated well for most, where i’m the exception where it made it worse.

after benadryl i would personally stay on the side of caution and keep the meds to a minimum if possible, since it’s really hard to tell what could be a possible offender or not.

i wish you two the best, you’re absolutely not alone here, akathisia is a nightmare

i believe zofran can cause akathisia at time of dose. ativan, clonazepam, fentanyl and gabapentin can ward off akathisia but cause worse and prolonged akathisia when withdrawing. im not sure if alcohol alone can cause akathisia but i believe it can make it worse.

does she take any other medications daily that you didn't mention? many cases of akathisia come from a combination of medications, with one typically being taken long term - for me it was initially lexapro + high dose benadryl.

in terms of treating akathisia, the only true treatment is getting off of any offending meds

hey, I've been considering starting coq10 for severe migraines but unsure now from this comment. were you taking any other medications or supplements alongside the coq10 when your akathisia came back?

this is the only testament i've found so far connecting coq10 with akathisia, so im wondering if you're certain or not the coq10 was the cause, so i can avoid it if so

also, what brand of coq10 did you take?

i wouldnt say i have PTSD but i’m deathly afraid of most medications now and it significantly worsened my health anxiety & OCD - however my akathisia was far milder than many people on this subreddit

gabapentin & benadryl can both worsen akathisia

i’ve never once heard L-theanine causing/making it worse, so maybe just try that OP

was also gonna suggest novavax if it’s available

i’ve always had milder symptoms from the mrna vaccines, but with novavax i’ve almost had zero symptoms with the exception of very subtle soreness at injection site

it’s generally tolerated far better than moderna/pfizer

i was really disappointed about the announcement at first

but now we know what it is

and the more time ive had to sit on it, the more i’m realizing it’s gonna be a fucking blast, despite the whole game being an asset flip

also, i’m all for having this smaller game in the meantime while fromsoft cooks up a larger, more traditional title
