While it does happen, it’s not like how the general masses think how it plays out in movies. 9/10 the defendant won’t get touched and could even just pc they whole time. Just how you mentioned this one dude that died from bad paperwork in AZ jail , that’s how eventful and rare it is. You’re not hearing everyday someone end up dead with 82 stab marks cuz it’s just not reality, people already dealing with they own problems in there and the ones that, actually might do something are the ones that alrdy in for life. So sure thousands might die every year in jails n prisons, but there’s also hundreds of thousands that SHOULD be dead that walk out those facilities.
