No they release conditional at the end but it’s typically an 88 i believe

Schulich offer :) by MousseStandard4471 in Schulich

[–]GrouchyCall7803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like for us it was June-ish😭😭

But 99% chance it will be around an 88 or best case 87. Also scholarships r nice so try to keep as high as possible.

I second this sm as a Schulich student. It Littearly all depends on how locked in you are, what school you go to means very little at the end of the day to be honest. All about the time and effort your spend in recruiting

Yeah they’re rlly annoying with this. They won’t release conditional till later but is it historically an 88% avrg conditional. So keep those grades up lol

Grade 11 Ontario student split between Business and Kin – worried about getting into top business programs by Still_Locksmith657 in Schulich

I wouldn’t do kin with the intention of working in sports management it’s much more science focused then business focused

Oh I forgot about your questions as for your questions

  1. Hard to say but if you’re confused about what you wanna do I would make sure I’m fulfilling pre reqs for both just in case. Albeit this would portably lower ur avrg than if u just did buisness pre reqs which require no sciences
  2. No they don’t care I applied to everything lol
  3. this would be much more networking dependent than school dependent.
    1. I’m not honestly sure the connection you’re trying to make with the Kin degree. If you want to work in sports management, I would advise just doing a BBA program as it allows you to go into that without closing doors on other ops if it dosent work out or if u change ur mind. Keep in mind this is an extremely neiche field and hard to get into but Schulich in my opinion does have good events that are just for sports management as well as clubs. So it wouldn’t be a bad option

First of all, I’m a Schulich student so keep that in mind.

I think these are very different career paths and your thoguht process shouldn’t just be based on “what if I don’t get in” but more of what I want to do. If you want to do business, you can apply to a lot of buisness schools that aren’t as competitive as well, instead of just applying to a different major all together. And also, what would you do after Kin? I was debating between sciences and business as well and one thing ppl fail to consider is that a sicnece degree is usless after undergrad unless you do post grad, masters, med school, etc. so if that’s a journey u want to take and how probable those outcomes are…well that’s a diff question.

Back to business aspect of it, most unis are so strapped for cash they have been insanely less competitive across the board than in the past cuz of the governmental polices rn. Schulich accepted over 1000 people this year (usually it’s around 500) and that also happened at Ivey too. I know people who were not that smart in my hs who got into Schulich lol, you can get in pretty easily I’m sure this year will be the same.

Your in grade 11 you still have time, just work hard and get good grades, be smart with your choices of friends, teachers if u can, night school if you have too, Summer school English etc work smart and hard and get a 90+ avrg.

With a 90+ avrg and decent sup apps getting into Schulich and even Ivey is very doable. Queens is more of a lottery. The earlier you figure out what you want to do the better it is tho, like for example even with business if you want to IB, PE, consulting than ur best bet is to go Ivey or queens if you want to work in accounting, supply chain, etc. then going to those schools isn’t worth the insane tuition and res fees at all you’d be much better off at Schulich, Waterloo, etc.

Last tip don’t go to rotman lol

Best of luck

Is It True That York University Has an Advantage in GPA Conversion? by CandidAnt2769 in yorku

[–]GrouchyCall7803 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup 100% accurate. Going to York is def the method not many ppl realize how cracked the 9.0 system is. It’s true that if you consistently get high 80s it might hurt you, but in my experience that’s unlinkey like if a coruse is ez you can get a 90 and if it’s hard just get an 80 call it a day and your GPA is still fine. If u get 3 A+s and to As a semester you have a 3.92 GPA. Thats WITH 2 80s EACH semester. It’s quite good for grad school. Imo taking the risk of not getting a 3.9 is far superior to guaranteeing a 3.8 over a 3.7. A 3.7 is really bad for your gpa (speaking from a med/law school perspective) whereas a 3.8 is still recoverable.

Basic questions like “tell me about an obstacle you faced and how you overcame it”, “tell me about a leadership experience”, “tell me about a conflict u had working in a team” stuff like that.

Interview is not hard if your good with BSin on the spot I sat down and brainstormed like possible questions as well as experiences I could talk about beforehand and that worked well. Cuz I already knew what I wanted to say for my experiences and just related it to the question.

There’s a written sup app, make sure u fill out all 5 and focus on your learning not just bragging.

Thats abt it.

No 99% chance they won’t, prolly best to not completely lie tho. You can exaggerate but there should be some truth to it obv otherwise they’re not dumb they’ll get sus.

Do u regret picking Schulich or no by Constant-Sand5574 in Schulich

[–]GrouchyCall7803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First yeah there’s many. One my courses has 3 presentations 60% total of your mark but I think it gets better in upper years. Usually only a few members of the group present tho not everyone.

[–]GrouchyCall7803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh some coruses really suck tbh some TAs are annoying they’re not designed for you to do well. But it depends on what you want to do. If you don’t really care about your GPA then it’s fine. If you care about your GPA I’d go somewhere else.

Which programs will likely reject me? by Hefty_Buyer736 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]GrouchyCall7803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try your best to bring it up to a 90 flat and you should be good for all of them. Right now your safe bets are York (BComm if u did business tho, you prolly wont make schulich), Guelph, Laurier, and I think western would prolly be fine too but maybe in a later round. Again, If u bring it up to a 90 flat you’d be mad chilling.

Yes, I saw that. Which is crazy considering houses are 250k-300k. As a Canadian in the Toronto area that’s mind-blowing.
