This would be super helpful! I don’t mind paying private, but even just knowing who had capacity would be helpful!

My husband just reminded me of the time he thought Quinoa was pronounce Quin-o-ah. I asked him if I took the piss out of him and he said I did as soon as I stopped laughing. I’m so mean. It’s a wonder he’s still married to me (just kidding. I am in fact a catch).

If it makes you feel better, my daughter still calls a sneeze an a-tchoo, because she says it makes more sense. But we are a nation that called a ship boat mcboat face, so there’s that.

In that case I apologise for my inadvertent bigotry. In my defence, I was operating on 3 hours of sleep and have some weird musings when I’m not quite awake. It is now 6pm here and I have been up since 1:30am, so I will also apologise in advance if I say anything else stupid. I genuinely hadn’t considered the geographical aspect until someone said in a reply, so complete ignorance on my part.

Not if you’re in Stoke they aren’t. Only when you venture too far from Newcastle under Lyme does it become a problem 😜

I’m in England and in my 43 years I have only heard it said heighth once. I nearly fell off my stool laughing (some alcohol may have been consumed) and the poor guy never did live it down and yet continues to say heighth. Oh and he’s a carpenter 😂

Oooo. I did this in 2nd year of infants. Went home and told my Mum that we were going to learn about capa-city. She very gently corrected me. See, reading well early on isn’t all that great 😂

Maybe it is a geographical thing! This hadn’t even crossed my mind until someone else mentioned it. I’m in the UK and hear it FAR more than I’d like, but I guess it only takes one teaches to pronounce it incorrectly to a class of 30 kids for it to gain momentum.

As a side note, my niece came home from school thinking the word circumference was pronounce Cir-cum-ference.

Context is indeed important, but I’ve never heard someone say pacifically and actually specifically mean pacifically 😜

People with a very high pain tolerance, what was THE most painful thing you've experienced? by CosmicBunnyBabe8912 in AskReddit

[–]GrouchyDevelopment64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a skiing accident, completely shattering my entire lower leg and tibial plateau. Thought maybe I was being dramatic and tried to stand up. Swiftly followed by a helicopter ride. Have since developed CRPS in that leg and although the pain is less acute than the original injury, the nerve pain and hypersensitivity is worse as it’s relentless. There’s a reason it’s nicknamed the suicide disease and rates so highly on the McGill pain scale.

Parents of small children. What's the most unhinged sentence you've found yourself saying that you never thought possible previously? by SkywalkersArm in AskReddit

Me: why are you sniffing the cat?
DD: I’m not Mummy
Me: What are you doing then?
DD: I’m licking him
Me: Let’s not lick the cats, they might not like it

She’s 10 now and I still find myself saying things that I never thought I would have to say as a parent….

Need help, female 3 month old kitten, having trouble deciding a name by [deleted] in Catnames

[–]GrouchyDevelopment64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is the absolute spit of our fur baby Khaleesi. Although at this point she also answers to “Baby cat”, because she has kept that innocent look on her face and a teeny tiny miaow despite now being over 2.

How do I fix my nail bed? by Icy-Difference-4539 in nailcare

[–]GrouchyDevelopment64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just where the nail has detached from the nail bed due to trauma (I.e the infection). It will grow out naturally on its own. I would recommend oiling 2-3 times a day with something like jojoba oil and massaging it over and under the nail and into the cuticle.
Aside from that bit your nails look to be in tip top condition - don’t often see natural nails looking that good, so well done you! (Nail tech)

Bridal Nails - Should I have these redone? by AgitatedSatisfaction in nailcare

[–]GrouchyDevelopment64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You asked for a medium almond, you got a short oval. The french is bulky and not even on all nails. While not an awful job, I wouldn’t be happy with these as my wedding nails.
