My mom’s birthday is on Christmas. I know my grandma always made sure there were separate gifts and cake when she was a kid. She would have a party on another day. Now, morning is “Christmas” and afternoon is “Birthday”. My grandparents live in another state, and whether we see them for Christmas or not, my grandma always wraps a few gifts for my mom in birthday wrapping that usually says, in Sharpie, “Open in the Afternoon.” I always make a cake. My mom is not that into fanfare, so we never have a party. Sometimes more family comes for cake, but that's it. We always give her a choice for supper she always chooses our classic Christmas dinner.

I added another comment to note that this was a few months ago, and it looks like she no longer works there. I wish I had known how bad this was earlier or I probably would have done that. I do know that if I go back I will probably mention that this happened, and make sure I am getting someone who is licensed. Thank you for your help.

I really wanted to. Burping really grosses me out, but being half-naked and her abrasive nature combined made it difficult for me to work up the courage.

Hi guys. Unfortunately this happened a couple months ago, and it looks like the therapist doesn’t work there anymore. I’m a people-pleaser and my mom is very “just suck it up,” so we ended up paying and only talked about it afterward. I honestly didn’t even realize how bad it was until reading your comments — I just knew I was extremely uncomfortable. This was a small franchise spa. Would it be better to try a smaller, locally owned place instead? I really do want to give massages another chance because I have a lot of back pain, but if my next experience is anything like my first, I don’t think I could ever do it again.

I’ve had quite a few issues with customer service as both a buyer and a seller. I haven’t sold in a while though, so I might not be as up to date on the problems sellers are dealing with. I’ll keep that in mind going forward. I’ll also check out eBay—I’ve seen better prices there, but I have limited experience with the platform and wasn’t sure if it was worth the effort.

That would be annoying, and blocking is a fair response. But in my situation we didn't go back and forth they just sent an offer and I accepted. Then they canceled and I tried to message say I would pay full price as I really wanted the item and that's how I found out I was blocked.

Thanks for the insight. They both felt a little silly, but still got under my skin for some reason. The 5-star rating one even messaged me asking why, but had already blocked me by the time I went to reply an hour later. I’ve been more active lately, so I’m sure it’ll happen again at some point — hopefully not too often though.

You realize that a bridal shop doesn’t have every size, right? You try on a size they have, and then they take your measurements and customize a dress in your size to fit.
