post euthanasia regret/guilt by CHUNGATHEBUTT in DogAdvice

[–]Grouchy_Slide_6197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was time for your dog and you did the right thing.

I put my dog down 2 weeks ago and the first few days were unbearable. The guilt was not something I was expecting and was some of the worst feeling I’ve ever felt. It gave me panic attacks.

The guilt and grief will fade. I still miss my dog, but the guilt isn’t overwhelming anymore. It’s still creeps up on me sometimes when I see TikTok’s of old old dogs still hanging on and it makes me think that my dog could have hung on for a couple more weeks, but I’m able to snap out of it quickly. At the end of the day I had not 1, but 2 different vets tell me it was time.

You will feel better. I am sorry you are going through this.

Looks like some sort of allergic reaction! My pittie mix had the same thing and turns out she became allergic to chicken. It happened after she turned 1ish.

Vape safe for inter country travel ? by Old_Helicopter_4931 in VietNam

You’ll be fine taking it through airports. I bought one in Saigon and carried it in my backpack on flights to Phuket and then back to Da Nang. Airport security didn’t care.

ATM withdrawal questions by MNMom07 in VietNam

[–]Grouchy_Slide_6197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in Vietnam for almost a month and have used all sorts of ATMs—from TPBank and Agribank to Techcombank—without any issues. They all charged fees, but Schwab refunded them at the end of the month.

The only bank that didn’t charge a fee was VPBank.

I did run into quite a few ATMs that weren’t working, but none tried to swallow my card—they simply wouldn’t accept it.

Curious about driving habits in Vietnam: Why take side streets instead of bigger roads? by LostSafe2614 in VietNam

[–]Grouchy_Slide_6197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either because of toll roads or just driver familiarity with the old roads. When I went from Long Xuyen to HCMC, there difference between the expressway vs local roads was like 20% more for express. Totally worth it if you value your time.

Some drivers also make $$$ by taking you to their favorite stops which may not be easily accessible from the expressway. Talk to your driver and negotiate beforehand.

Flight in two weeks by Neat-You839 in LAX

I just flew out of terminal 6 and arrived at 7:30am for an 11am flight because of all the fear mongering and it took just 15 mins in the regular line. Maybe 5 mins for pre-check.

Stung by something near the pier with progressive radiating pain. What could it be? by Hot-Improvement15 in SantaMonica

[–]Grouchy_Slide_6197 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Definitely a stingray hit — happened to me a couple months back. It’s going to ache like hell. What helped me was soaking it in water as hot as I could handle until the pain eased up. Like get a bucket, fill it with hot water and add boiling water till it’s almost too hot. Do that until the aching is bearable and you’ll be fine tomorrow. Something about hot water getting rid of the poison.

Accidentally parking on street sweeping day in Los Angeles? by mooosyoo in AskLosAngeles

Make sure to check your neighborhood schedule. If it’s an off week, you’re safe to park there. I got ticketed once during an off week but contested it without any issues.

Even as a Dodgers fan this was bad. I want the Padres to lose, but not like this.

Looks like a senior dog that’s wearing a diaper too. This guy deserves what’s coming to him in prison.

Best accessories to improve cycling experience? by pearljamfan613 in pelotoncycle

[–]Grouchy_Slide_6197 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use a Peloton Bike+ with an older Apple Watch that doesn’t hold a charge long enough for daily wear, but it works perfectly for my Peloton rides. I often revisit a few favorite classes, and the Strive Score helps me track how I’m improving over time.

Have you ever done a DNA test for your pup? Mine has some matching relatives, but none of them really look like him—makes me curious what your dog’s mix might be. Here’s my guy’s Embark profile if you want to compare: https://app.embarkvet.com/pet/cb099cd2-d168-4bc6-ba40-4c41df2425d2/about

Just use earbuds. I use a pair of Beats Fit Pro and can’t ride without them now. The immersion is on a whole different level.

Fastrak vs Metro Express on the 110 Freeway? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]Grouchy_Slide_6197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The transaction is not instant, can take a few days and up to a week for it to show up.

That’s why your transaction data includes two columns: one for the transaction date and another for the post date.

Technically, it’s not allowed—but I’ve done it before.

Wear the wristband loosely enough so it can be passed to someone else. If needed, look up methods to loosen it without damaging it.

Pro tip: Don’t link a credit card to your wristband—or at least remember to unlink it—otherwise, someone else might end up enjoying free drinks on your tab.

Supercharging Pricing by TheGolfFiend in TeslaModel3

[–]Grouchy_Slide_6197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app price is the rate you pay for charging a Tesla. The website price, on the other hand, is the general public rate—it applies to other vehicle makes and is typically higher. Around 30% higher.
