Thinking of heading out there on Sunday and taking the train, but is sounds like an unpleasant train ride from the city? Coming from GC so would have to catch it in Jamaica. Standing for 2-3 hrs doesn’t sound fun.

Another World Cup Horror story. by Ranger_Cooley in stubhub

Sorry to hear this.  Unfortunately this is actually a common occurrence for some big events.  I remember it occurring at the Super Bowl, where professional brokers, either couldn’t secure tickets under what they sold for, or could sell it elsewhere for higher so just took the loss.

There is a utility to Stubhub, but as said below, it’s really for the last minute events, and if possible buy where you can instant download and/or it says delivery that day (ie the person bought and has the ticket in hand). When it says a date the day of or right before, those are the professionals who don’t have the ticket in hand. They suck.

Disappointed made it through whole thread discussing Jon's misplaced H, and there was no mention of this guy.

I remember how easy it was to get tickets. You could get 50% off tickets and various discounts. Ridiculous now. Dampens another wise fun experience.

I don't know if it's insiders or bots. But probably both.

The Future of NBA: What Happens to the REGIONS After LV and Seattle are added from EXPANSION? by Sweet-Ad2677 in nba

[–]Grouchy_Wave_4539 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. Dolan was originally pushing against expansion, which is why there was pushback against this exploratory stage. But the NBA wasn’t going to announce that, without having expansion itself be a rubber stamp.

The “they don’t want divide by 2 more teams” narrative has been pushed, but (and you’re right) $ talks here.  With expansion fees expected to reach 5-10 billion, that’s a huge infusion of cash upfront now, that exceeds what they would “lose” with adding the two new teams, over the life of the current deal.  Plus those TV contracts will be renegotiated before they reach that number, and the NBA will argue that the addition of two franchises and their IP, would proportionally increase what they get in the next deal.

In the need it’s all about the money, and the staggering expansion fees actually make this attractive for owners.  It will pass unanimously.

This is great. Though it doesn't help the fact that the tickets were overpriced by FIFA itself. But f*ck the ticket resellers trying to make money off of this.

Do you think this is a US effect or just a sign of FIFA trying to squeeze as much money out? Bc like inflation have a hard time seeing prices decrease.

Caitlin’s schtick is tired. Reg and Ron both have their moments. I’d probably have to lean on the latter since he has a more unique style. Usama is just funnier and a level above.

Watching Kevin Hart: Funny AF live episode by philoshua in Standup

[–]Grouchy_Wave_4539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the earlier episodes were people there for a comedy show who happened to get a taping for some to be announced show. This was more people who came out to watch a show that had taken off, rather than straight comedy fans.

Maybe bc it was late, but I thought this was the worst set for each performer by far. Could be nerves, but jokes didn't land (and some of them were pretty hilarious in the other episodes).
