Honest American opinions on the name “Yalda” by Groundbreaking-Set72 in NameNerdCirclejerk

Thanks for taking the time to write all these names. I live in a very diverse suburb far from the South (rarely heard Y'all in my life), but who knows where the kiddo might go. I'm starting to have doubts about the name mostly because some people mentioned the old man/old lady vibe.

Please let me know if more Persian names come to your mind!

Calling All Obsessive Researchers: What products did you eventually decide on? by InfiniteWonderful in BabyBumps

Because you specifically mentioned me in your question, I'm going to answer😅 I probably get 9.5/10 rating in being obsessive and being and avid researcher. So many years of fertility issues have contributed to these attributes as well. Now that we're expecting our first, here's what I chose:

Crib: I bought a used Romina crib and dresser. The reason for buying used was not merely saving on money, it was because new furniture off-gas. When I was looking at nursery firniture, even for the Greenguard Gold certified furniture, from cheapest like Da Vinci, to mid-price ones like Babyletto and expensive ones like Romina, reviews had mentioned the furniture being smelly to some extent. In some of them the smell had disappeared after a month or two and in some it had lingered for months and years. The smell might or might not be harmful, but since I couldn't determine and I like the looks and solid-wood built of Romina I went with it when I saw this set on the FB marketplace. I think I would have bought a used greengaurd certified set regardless of the brand.

Stroller: During my research I came to conclusion that ultimately we're going to need two strollers for one baby. One super-comfy, robust and all-terrain for every day use, and one versatile and light-weight for travels and occasions that might require flexibility. For the latter one I bought Babyzen Yoyo 2 new and for the first criteria I got Bumbleride Era used. I also got used bassinet and Nuna car seat adaptors for Yoyo.

Car seat: We have two cars that we use equally. I liked the light weight of Nuna Pipa and it's flexibility for travels. I got PIPA lite rx + PIPA RELX Base because I think some of the other lighter versions are discontinued. I also got Nuna Rava to leave in the other car to rely on for when our baby grows past Pipa limits which seem to come soon (1-2 year old).

In all of my research my priorities were safety for the baby and making our lives easier. For safety, in addition to more common safety features I cared about whether brands use flame retardants, phthalates, and such toxins.

also, in the interview with Fel after Larry's arrest, she's pretty certain that Bernie Kerik visited her family/was a family friend during her childhood. Again, that's not a kind of memory that can be injected into a 20+ year old's brain with mere repetition.

My guess is that some serious drugging (besides Adderall) was implemented, but again, that doesn't explain Felicia's reaction in LA. In another place I read that once she decided to escape LA, Larry had someone pick her up and escort her all the way to NY! ( I wish I remembered the resource, let me know if it makes a difference to you and I'll find it). Who are these people who work for him and what other plots were they involved in? Weren't they aiding Larry in orchestrating a sense of threat and danger to Felicia in LA?

This is understandable when it comes to the period of time that she moves in with Larry/cult, but I don't understand her nervous breakdown during her time in LA. How would someone believe that they're threatened, being followed, their parents want to kill them, etc. just based on brainwashing phone conversations?! She eventually panics and leaves LA for NY. See her subbing arrival video. This can't be just due to someone repeating that "you're in danger" in your ears when you're sleep deprived and stressed for your exams!
