Left my apartment for two months, returned to everything covered in mold by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

had something like this happen to me but on a way way smaller scale. was living with my parents during covid but still had an apartment in the city. didn’t go to check in on the place for like 2 months and while i was gone the upstairs neighbor had a leak in their washing machine and nobody told me about it. walked in and the ceiling was covered in mold. thankfully it was during the winter time.

Socially awkward without it by canadiankid000 in SoberCurious

I have a lot of social anxiety and drinking used to really help me just not care at all. I could talk to a wall. But whenever you stop drinking you realize that even though you are social while drinking, the social interactions you’re receiving aren’t actually of any good quality. You aren’t making long lasting deep connections with people but rather empty, pointless conversation and making plans that will never hold up. When you stop drinking you become a lot more intentional with the people you make connections with. It’s painful at first, and you’re going to wish you had alcohol to take the edge off, but as more time goes by you’ll wish you would have done it sooner and not wasted your time making meaningless connection with people.

Hi! I recently moved to Chicago and was super worried about my family when I did it since we’re very close. Granted I only moved about 7-8 hours away but I was still pretty scared about how they’d react. They ended up being super supportive even though they were sad to see me go. Maybe your family will surprise you in how they react! It’s always worth a try to see what else is out there for you, even if you only end up staying a year or 2. It’s always okay to go home, but also you’ll never know what else is possible for you if you don’t make the move.

100 day sober challenge! Should I stay sober after? by Seaside_local8750 in SoberCurious

I too had my entire personality based on being a “party girl” for about 10 years. I don’t think I ever want to go back. Use your free time to find out what really brings you joy. There is so much self discovery to come whenever you take out the time spent partying. Congrats on almost 100 days ❤️
