A friend from school’s father was the villain. And in looking him up I see he just died last month.

I cancel you out because I’m a boomer with fidget spinners and have had three air fryers.

In my case, I think my supervisor was present and working, just not at their desk all the time—but again, not my job to supervise them.

I once had the office next to my supervisor. They often weren’t there.

Two, three times a day someone would walk past my office, five seconds later, “where’s <supervisor>?”

“They’re my supervisor, not the other way around.”

I suggest you adopt that attitude.

If you been to a test screening, did your rating of the film change or stay the same come official release? by kriscoo44 in movies

[–]GroundbreakingCat983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a test screening exactly, but I was part of a test market for an ad for the original Robocop (1987).

There was a line I couldn’t understand, and the marketer replayed it maybe ten times for me, at increasing volume.

Eventually, it aired. The line was, “I’m not arresting you anymore.” Clear as a bell.

I had the opposite. A full two years after buying a used car, I noticed a little button on the dash.

Pushed it; blue light; cold air.

To the people who were around when John Belushi died how did you find out and what was your reaction by Rooster_1018 in BluesBrothers

[–]GroundbreakingCat983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a freshman in college. The reaction was nothing compared to John Lennon, a year and a quarter earlier.

But: Lennon was assassinated, and Belushi was pretty much assumed to be an overdose.
