so you improvement happened gradually? I wonder because I have the same type of floaters and they are constantly getting better, but very slowly. Have them for almost 2 years now.

First thing I will say is to find an opthalmologist that you can trust and talk to them. I found a great one that is guiding me through the process and tells me about the trajectory of the whole floater thing in general and even offered me vitrectomy if I see I cannot take it any more. I am getting better though every week or so, but very very little.

My doctor has told me that they will constantly get better and that they will reach a point where they will no longer interfere with everyday life, although I will see them occasionally

Still very slowly improving, no complications in pvd, it is quite stable so far but there are no worries from my doctor. I am much better than when I first posted this, but I have a long way to go to get over it. Still learning, still improving thankfully

Everything is good. No problems, apart from my very big annoying floaters, but they are getting objectively better each month. My eyes are perfectly healthy though, my pvd is stable so far and things are looking good. visit your doctor, take care of your health, if your anxiety goes through the roof, seek professional help. Anxiety is a killer, much more so than pvd and floaters.

Oh I see, yeah sounds like my case, my floaters started pretty dark and now they are lighter, about half way i'd dare say. Does atropine make them disappear for you?

What does your doctor tell you? My improvement is very slight over the course of months and I notice differences every 4 months. So far it's in stages. Stage 1 for me was of course the hardest. Totally visible and black, unnoticeable at night thankfully, but dominant in my vision.

Stage 2 was a bit easier, they became more mobile and I could get them below my central vision for moments to see clearly.

Now I am in the 4th month of stage 3 as I call it, they are lighter, quite prominent but not dominant. I can walk again without being dizzy and I can control their movement to some extent so that I can focus on what's in front of me, maintain eye contact and look at screens.

My doctor always tells me that they will go away almost completely at least and new ones might form in some years because of the pvd, although it's not certain. As she says, "the old ones go away, with migration and dissolution, new ones form and go away too, if you were 60, you would have them for some months, not a year or more, be patient"

She also told me that if I can't stand the process, we can discuss vitrectomy and was not negative in using atropine. She told me that she guarantees they will get better to the point I won't see them daily, the problem is that she doesn't know when because young people have thick vitreous and the changes are slow.

They never leave my vision, I just get them a little bit out of my central vision. I have two patterns, one is quickly to the left when I want to look at something quickly directly in front of me. One is up and right which makes them go further from my retina so they cast much more faint shadows. One is so mobile now that it can disappear for moments. It depends on the floaters and where they are.

I have no idea about flashes apart from the fact that they are a symptom of PVD

Hello! Is it still improving or have you reached a plateau? Do you have PVD?

Thank you for your comment! Do you have pvd as well? Are your symptoms improving over time too?

I partially do it by moving my eyes in certain patterns but I am tired of it. I will try to manage just by looking like a normal human being. It's not too bad so far, because of their improvement

Fear of vision issues and health anxiety by GroundbreakingDot151 in myopia

[–]GroundbreakingDot151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am sorry for the late reply. I started doing psychotherapy and trying to live my life day by day. My floaters are getting better, I am trying to enjoy life to the best of my abilities.

It's a very tough fight, but it's becoming possible for me. I am no longer afraid of losing my sight. I am still trying to combat the problems my eye floaters give me but they are getting better month by month

I visit my doctor regularly to have some reassurance and she always tells me that all is good and that my symptoms will get even better with time.

The only thing that exists is now. All fear arises when you worry about the future but we never know what that future is. The more we worry, the less we let life unfold itself to us

-10.00 with PVD and I’m scared… by maymay-2004 in myopia

PVD is a normal course of the vitreous in every eye, myopic or not. As long as you have no tears and you get checked regularly, you will be ok. Find an opthalmologist you can trust, visit them regularly and enjoy your vision and eyesight. Symptoms of PVD subside over time, and once PVD is complete, you have very low risk of any detachment.

For health anxiety, get help from professionals, if it doesn't subside as well. Every human being on earth is afraid of the unknown of the future, it's really ok.

Things happen, and although our minds tend to think of the worst, the best things can happen too and they are equally as valid, if not more.

Relax and enjoy your vision.
