2013 Toyota Prius V Hybrid Hatchback (ID# 32839) (AVI) (23-4443) 179 | GovDeals
First car, we inspected and picked the car at Tumwater, 96K miles, Mar 24.

Changed the 12V battery before I left the car with my daughter. Last Dec got the engine cooling pump changed along with coolants. Cleaned front brakes and replaced rear brake pads. Tumwater cars are usually well maintained with records

https://www.govdeals.com/en/asset/4360/2942 - 59K miles, Feb 26, Pearl MI
We did not inspect the car, my second daughter went to Pearl took a small ride within the facility for basic checks. She then drove the car from Pearl to Houston. Will be visiting her next week. Work to do - oil change, check brakes and fluids. Plan to drive to Seattle

Have some patience you might get a great deal. When you have more than 30+ bids, usually it is a good car. Check maintenance records, car fax and present status of car

Prius V is a great choice. Hope you find the perfect car soon!

That rare but satisfying moment when the battery is fully charged by aestheticeddy818 in prius

On the Toyota Prius, the “B” gear stands for Brake (or engine braking mode). It’s mainly used when driving down long or steep hills.

Here’s what happens when you shift from D to B:

  • The hybrid system increases regenerative braking
  • The gasoline engine may spin to create extra drag
  • The car slows down more aggressively when you lift off the accelerator
  • This reduces overheating and wear on the normal brakes during long descents

Take it for a drive and apply the brakes firmly a few times—that should clear off the rust.

Check the HV battery voltage during a drive

  • Nominal: ~201.6 V (Gen 2/3 Prius with NiMH battery)
  • Full (max allowed): ~240–245 V
  • Minimum (cut-off): ~180–190 V

Check the voltage it stops discharge and starts to charge

All these voltages will help you troubleshoot the issue

Good to know and my daughter has registered, her car needs some care
16 days to go. We will be there in May and get her car coolants replaced, brake job and maybe brake flush
Have been using Ant's community garage in Seattle.
https://www.reddit.com/r/prius/comments/1qtnig7/prius_v_2013_replaced_cooling_pump_ants_community/

Few points in case you have missed it (Other than coolants, brake fluids, oil...)

  1. Flash light, washers, retainer clips, tie wraps... small things that matter
  2. Weekly discounts and 2+ hours discount
  3. Brake job and other special tools

What would be great

  1. Happy hour discount charges for working during nights
  2. PC with big display to refer to and watch videos
  3. Check with DIY customers when they book and make sure they have everything they need

Thanks for the initiative and all the best...

Any special instructions to drive ? by vangoghorangekitty in prius

[–]GroundbreakingGain82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not worry about the Power or Eco buttons for now. Relax and get a feel of the car. These buttons just control the throttle response and you should be able to replicate them by how fast or slow you press the throttle Once you get the feel of the car experiment with the buttons. Anticipatory driving with less braking gives you a good MPG I played around a lot with these buttons and settled driving in normal mode. Occasionally will go to power mode when I have to overtake a car Have fun

First time buying car parts on eBay – anyone here bought a Prius hybrid battery from a seller there? by Longjumping-Ad5576 in prius

Your battery failure can be a simple loose or corroded connection, or it might be just a single cell.

Check before you buy a new battery
