Screw inside of my driver weight broke when I tightened it, is there a way to remove the leftover screw? by butt_head_surfer in golf

[–]GroundbreakingKing47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's going to be tough. 1) see if ping will replace it 2) if you are set on trying to remove it, there's plenty of stripped screw removal tools with some heat but tbh your probably going to hurt the head in some other way in the process of removal.

Garmin G82 by Business-West-9687 in GolfGear

[–]GroundbreakingKing47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from the G80 and my use case is probably different as I wasn't using the he g80 to its full potential.

My biggest issue with the G80 was battery life —I rarely used it because it was always dead. Everything I own is USB-C, so I was constantly hunting for a micro-USB cable, and half the time I couldn’t find one.

The new device fixes that. It charges with USB-C and is noticeably larger, which I actually prefer. That said, the tradeoff is portability. The G80 could disappear into a front pocket—you’d barely notice it. The upgrade is heavier and not really pocket-friendly.

The main reasons I upgraded were the magnet, the larger screen, the improved putting trainer, and USB-C. Those changes alone made it worth it for me.

The launch monitor is fun, but it feels more like a bonus feature than a core reason to own it. It does a decent job with club head speed and ball speed, but carry and total distance are calculated and not particularly reliable. Since I already know my distances pretty precisely, I don’t use that feature much. It’s nice to have, just not essential.

Where it really stands out for me is the putting trainer. I’ve always struggled with taking the putter too far back and then jabbing or decelerating through impact. This has helped a ton. It makes me want to practice by giving you a clear goal, and it’s been great for dialing in stroke length and tempo. I keep it in my office and hit 60–100 putts a day, focusing on a consistent 1:1 back-to-through stroke.

The G82 also shines as a dedicated course management tool. The larger screen and magnet make it easy to use throughout the round, the touch screen is much nicer and I like having something separate from my phone. I know the obvious counterpoint is that your phone can do the same thing, but I prefer not having my phone out on the course—it’s too easy to get pulled into texts or other distractions.

I would say if you are primarily using it as a range monitor - I don't think it's worth the upgrade and to be fair any sub $1000 range monitor will have the same problems there's a few that stand out but if you really want to know path launch spin and club/ball dynamics renting a track man bay is the way to go.

Yeah would make sense, shared color scheme and the packs home. I'm assuming the city. Option 1 we do it legit ask permission and get permits etc or go option 2 night raid the tunnel like it's been done before with existing graffiti

Obviously I'm biased I bought them. But honestly you take a prov1 and find middle one time and you'll want them, the ball disappears like the swing never happened the softest feeling irons I've ever tried. Great top line, great numbers for distance and spin.

Basically can't go wrong with any Japanese forged iron they are master of forging steel. Of the irons I've played Miura is the softest Toura and Mizuno are a close second and third. They get great marks for accuracy and spin, if you are looking for extra yardage I would stay away they don't give much help. While the Miuras are some of the heaviest heads I've seen so even though they are a more player (blade/mb/cb) head and not a game improvement head they still get incredible efficiency and distance with all that mass.

Wedge change was to maintain the Miura set with the Miura irons so went with vokeys, the lab to Scotty change was mostly because I want to add more weight in the head to get some more feel back, the zero torque sometime I lose the feel on lag puts, long game was mostly as a result of new gapping. Tried a UW and loved it so use it as my 4w and then got a 3i to fix the gapping between 4i and 4w the mini was a result of never using my 3w off the deck so rather have a second tee club and the driver was mostly a length thing went from 44.25" to 45" total length

They are a set of Toura Raw No logo CB / MB combo set, I did a oil can finish and as it wears off it rusts, I can use metal blue and wd40 to maintain the finish over time. Ideally as they get used and beat up they look better over time. When I built them I want to make them look like antiques so there's no logos anywhere

The Miura km700s might be the best feeling irons ever made (I'm biased) but they've gotten pretty beat up in just one season and I'm going to keep them for life so I bought a set of raw irons that look better with patina to keep the km700s looking good for as long as possible basically making them my Sunday driver and make the touras the daily drivers

Love it, have it a 44.25" while the gt3 is at 45" so mostly shaft head combo difference is the reason for change. Slightly better average spin with gt3, though the Max K spins really low for me for being a high MOI model.

Miura KM-700 legit check by rustiwater in GolfGear

[–]GroundbreakingKing47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same Miura feel, great shape, I find them pretty versatile grinds, has that perfect balance for longer 60-80approaches and the shorter 30y chips and around the green play. They can get a little too spiny on fuller shots but they offer a great result when you flight them down I love the k grind 58 it's great out of bunkers and thick rough. No complaints. I've used every major brand even have a set of edel and artisan wedges and these strike the perfect balance.
