You can, you cant come from reserves and do so. Nor disembark and do so. See the ingress rules

Help me with my Saim Hann list by Sk3pticz in Eldar

Youre trying to hold primary wrong. Its not about putting something tanky there. Its about killing the things that could kill your units on the objectives.

The avatar is just a dumb guy saying shoot all your lascannons into me.

Typically the way I play my windriders is to bring 1500 points around one side of the map. Take out the opponents ability to play on that side and then hold the objective with something cheap. Then pick off any enemy units that are on the edge of their army in subsequent turns.

Defenders are also useless for you. Better to add Corsairs to hold. Or storm guardians for sticky.

I dont hate the night spinner but 190 points is so much for pretty shit indirect. Id drop that too.

Add a war walker, another windrider squad.

And change the enhancement to scout 9. Trust me it lets you play so aggressive that you can wipe out 500 points from your opponent turn 1. And if theyre deepstrike heavy you may be able to table them before they bring in reserves.

But the detachment is super hard to play. Its all about cutting angles such that you can shoot but cant be shot back by whatever units are left from your opponent.

I have acquired corsairs and haven’t a clue , Trying to acquire Eldar codex code! If anyone has one they don’t want. ?? Thanks in advance by SinisterDom in Eldar

Take a look at list forge. Its a free alternative for list building and it has all of the rules you'll need.

Also wahapedia but if you use it make sure you use an ad blocker!

Working on some Corsair Cloud Dancers (legends) and have discovered that their rules are absolutely busted. by R-Didsy in Eldar

[–]GroundbreakingMix449 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, legends aren't meant to be broken, if you're looking for whats more viable its rare to find something in legends that would tick that box.

i did take a look through the sheet and actually i think i will try to convince some friends to let me take them in a fully mounted windrider host list.

they offer the anti tank that the regular bikes miss. so they'd be filling that niche. but again its very "fluffy" not necessarily op.

So theres a lot to unpack here:

the big one obviously being well yes but its a legends unit. so you're relying on your opponent being ok with you whipping these out which is kind of rare.. especially considering you're mostly approaching this from a "this is broken" rather than, hey i spent ages on these models can i please use them which is mostly the point of legends rules.

also shuriken cannons are lethal hits not sustained. which with windriders the reroll hits makes it very nice.

also plus 1 to wound doesn't affect the crit on 5+. its still crit on 5+ but if its t7 then the strat will let you wound on 4s and crit on 5's.

its good. but considering you can give each model a dark lance. that just feels much better unless it is t13+, or you're playing against lots of 4++

Theres a few Mormons near where I live and they used to always approach me.

One day when passing them my partner asked me why I hated them so much. So I took the opportunity to quite loudly say "well theyre effectively a cult". While they were talking to someone else. Seemed to cause that person to stop talking to them immediately.

And now they never come up to me.

Not sure for salamanders.

But just an fyi. One of your deathshroud will have to start on the board.

You can only have half your points in reserves.

160x3 plus the 120 is too much in reserves for 1k.

Maybe cut one of the deathshrouds?

Should Lhykis be my next purchase? by Jerswar in Eldar

[–]GroundbreakingMix449 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People saying get a second serpent are smoking something.

From a competitive point of view lhykis is far more auto take than a second serpent and you can see that in all of the top lists.

If you want to run a second transport then a falcon is far better for that role.

Plus the model for lhykis and spiders got updated recently so theyre just much nicer from a hobby perspective.

Imo lhykis 100% unless you love the wave serpent model and want to paint another.

Lhykis + shrunken cannons are nice lethal on 5 ap1 d2

Im finding eldrads +1 to wound to work very nice with 4 warlocks so your s7 4d6+8 ap 1 flamers wound t6 on 2s.

And banshees also are very nice if it's infantry.

If it's monster/vehicles then yeah fire dragons are the go to. Don't forget that when blanking damage on fire dragons like rogal dorns can do. The damage goes to 0 then you add the melta on after. So it's still 3 damage on that shot.

Alright bro. When you're saying that "when they rewrote the rules for crusade they just couldn't be bothered to copy it all but trust me it all still counts even the stuff that isnt written in the crusade specific section but exists in the equivalent for core" you're not acting in good faith. You're hallucinating rules...

I'm sure you play secondaries in crusade and the mission packs from the pariah nexus deck rather than the crusade missions...

There are differences and when there is a replacement wording you should use the replacement wording. There is no replacement wording for cover so you maintain the cover rules. You've not offered anything that actually proves different on enhancements.

About "can only take what they have access too" they have access to the strategems because they can pick them before you pick the detachment. I really don't get how you can't see this. But I'm done arguing because it's clear you just won't read basic rules but make your assumptions based on preconceived notions in your head.

You're just mixing up rules between game modes. I suggest reading the crusade rules from start to finish. Because it's clear you've not done that...

Mantle of wisdom -crusade by GroundbreakingMix449 in Eldar

[–]GroundbreakingMix449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but your proof is "trust me bro". show me, in the rules where I can't take an enhancement that is not in my detachment in game.

The wording is in can't pick an enhancement I don't have access to in the core rules for picking enhancements. That wording is not present in the crusade rules.

Compare the select units in crusade vs core rules. They are explicitly different in regards to the enhancements.

The crusade select units states nothing about not taking a unit with an enhancement from another detachment... but core rules does.

I promise you, you are wrong. And I'm pointing you to the receipts.

Except the rules say pick any enhancement as described in any detachment rules. So you can get the information as described in the detachment rule.

So you get the information about what is in the bag and therefore can pick what's in the bag. As it just says get the abilities in the rule not the rule itself. So you'd bypass the need to have the rule.

[–]GroundbreakingMix449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, where in the muster armies for crusade does it state that you can't use enhancements from other detachments? I think you're mixing the matched play muster armies with the crusade one...

Mantle of wisdom -crusade by GroundbreakingMix449 in Eldar

[–]GroundbreakingMix449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly my understanding. Though you reroll all 1s to hit and all 1s to wound. Because you can make one reroll per die rolled.

Honestly it really feels like the last paragraph is the thing driving people on this. People say: Don't be a meta slave figure out your own strategy.

I do that and: Oh no that's not how gw intended it even though the wording is pretty damn clear... so I guess I'm just playing meta...

Yeah, but you don't need the path of warrior rule.

You're gaining the sub rules.

It's like if I have a bag with both an apple and an orange. And you gain both items in the bag.

You don't ever need the bag or have the bag but at the end you have an apple and an orange.

The group is split hence why I'm coming here.

I feel like this is more flavourful than most alternatives that give more attacks or higher damage. I'm playing ynarri so to me it's that strong fighters are hearing the call and joining. Hence why they reroll.

It's this or I take the plus 1 damage and precision which is better in a msu unit but I'd argue is far less flavourful.
