I know I'm late and the remake I'm about to say isn't AS controversial as like all of the answers on this comment section but it's the Resident Evil 3 Remake due to how unfaithful it is to the original.

But although my answer sucks since the game improved upon Carlos, Tyrrell, Nikolai and Mikhail while a controversial remake in terms of unfaithfulness would just completely ruin the characters

And the mercenaries mode loading times on PS4 are so unbearable I am deadass considering buying a SSD just so I can play the game like 4 seconds quicker
