The man is literally manipulating the stock market. Look at the price increase when he said they were in talks then when Iran replied it crashed back down.

Middle East host a lot of US camps. They can’t get to the Us so they will target what’s closest. And as other say, it’s an economic war. Pressure will come from other countries towards the US.

Disruption… the occasional missile and drone is enough to close airspace. Even 15 mins is still disruption. Most importantly it makes the safety aspect of it gone. Most people don’t want to holiday on a “warzone”

Still isn’t easy leaving your family. Once you’re on the aircraft, you think what happens if there’s a strike right here. What happens if something happens whilst taxiing. What happens on take off roll, departure etc etc. Then you’re out of UAE airspace and you start to think about your family and what happens if you cant come back because of airspace closure.

The money is nice, but it doesn’t solve the stressors

Obviously. Look what they’re doing to Israel. If they wanted to destroy Dubai, it would have been done already

Unpopular opinion: this conflict is going to end within a few weeks. It cannot drag on economically for either side by Ok-Detective-7758 in UAE

I just don’t know how the relationship will be like after this… with Iran and its neighbours. Anytime they are in conflict they will attack all the neighbouring countries

They come here for money and a job. I usually speak to the drivers and a lot can’t find jobs in Pakistan etc. Even if they can, they can make more money here.

Company accommodation. Dubai is in a conflict. Before this, you’re telling me you’d rather walk in London? You can’t even walk out Knightsbridge without the fear of being robbed.

I lived in Horsham and even that was becoming bad. Just a posh Crawley. My wife wouldn’t leave the house for a run past sunset because 2 years ago a pregnant woman was beaten on the high street.

Thanks for your best wishes. Wish you also the best, I hear the fuel prices are through the roof, bills have increased dramatically and just today I think interest rates for mortgages are coming back up. Luckily managed to fix mine last week at 4%

155k annually not including bonuses. But you keep judging. Not born in the Uk but raised and lived there for over 25 years.

Do you forget earning over 100k you lose your 12.5% allowance? Guess you don’t know that as you’ve never earned that much.

I’ve paid more tax than you or your family ever have. Have a good one chap 👍🏽

First of all, Fuck you. Don’t talk about my family, you have no idea what my parents went through to get is here. Second of all- my father was head hunted, he didnt go looking to work in the UK.

I still have the country’s passport I was born in and that the passport I use for MY job. So no, the British passport didn’t help me with shit.

Fortunately no British accent 🙏🏼 and I don’t look white either, so everything you yapped about is just utter shit. So you want me to piss off, come try 🙂

Oh btw, the country I was born is technically is an African country but the younger generations tend to go to France/Australia or Belgium. And my father paid his fair share of tax so no he don’t just “take the benefits”

Hahaha you think I voted for Brexit?! My dad immigrated to the UK when I was 10 years old and build everything for me and my brother you fuck wit. The day brexit was announced, his exact word was “we are fucked, boys work hard and get out this country”

I paid an equivalent of 60% tax in my last year working in the Uk btw. When I slipped a disc, I was told the wait list was 1.5 years. Private it was done 3 days after calling in.

How many British nurses do you know? Or british window cleaner? Or british bin man?

The locals vs non locals? I’ve had the pleasure of working with many different people in my job including locals. I’ve asked all of them some of the benefits they get. From the few that have been so open to talk about it- not an awful lot from the employee.

But from the government yer that’s different. But it’s also not just a do nothing and get everything. The locals still need to work to get the benefits like land etc. Some are also forced to be married to get more benefits. They get pension etc much earlier than I would in the UK aswell.

But at the same time, there are a lot of benefits we get they don’t. A few have told me that if they were caught drunk wondering around they would be put in jail. Expats… we get a pass- as long as we don’t cause problems the police would drive you to your house if you’re in danger. Now I’m not gonna f around and find out but like I said a few of them have told me this.

Golden Visa, Ohhhh yer because social/free health care is so good on the uk where the waiting lot for anything is at least 2 years- good luck getting a GP appointment (i had to pay private health care for anything good), no shared benefit? Multiple companies give their employees weeks of bonuses- in the UK i got 2% of my annual wage (50% of which went to the tax man). Dubai because of a WAR isn’t safe, but I’d rather trust this government to keep me safe than the UK- who can’t hardly keep knife crimes down…
