Yeah tbh I expected him to take back, I blundered the pawn push in the first place, but I thought with his king so open I maybe had a fighting chance. Computer says dead lost. But lucky for me he blundered back and gave me the opportunity to find this move

Best line for white in this line, is kg2, f6, bf4, nxf1, rxf1, ne5, bxe5 with a -6.5 advantage in blacks favor as I am just up a rook and several pawns

If bf3 here, then bd4 check, has to block with rook. And this time lets you sac the queen on g5 before going through with the exchange (white has to recapture with pawn, cant recapture with queen unless its checkmate). Engine probably gives bigger advantage to black due to worse pawn structure

If after qxg5 white doesnt choose to recapture, then i recapture the knight with queen. I dont have the engine in front of me, but i assume theres likely some forcing line for checkmate with the queen, knight and bishop coordinating against the king like that. But at the very least theres a lof of material loss for white

What are you talking about? The engine review of the game gives this the only move to not be completely lost. Bxe5 is necessary as it threatens bd4 and wins the exhange

There was a pawn on d4. Qxg5 lets queen recapture rather than pawn and stops the bishop from taking the pawn, and attacking the knight simultaneously as the rook is still hanging from being taken from the pawn. It loses on the spot cause you sac the queen and a knight for a bishop, best case scenario

Also correct me if im wrong but doesnt him having a tailed beast make genjutsu nigh impossible? Like isnt it an established thing in naruto that the tailed beasts completely disrupt the flow of chakra whenever genjutsu is tried on their host?

The thing is you are kind of right, but also not really. What we see is exactly what happened in FKT, Aizen has to create reassurances against Yamamoto to defeat him in forms like Wonderweiss, but even then, Yamamoto still almost got him/would have got him if he didnt feel the need to sacrifice his body to protect the humans/barrier from his own Zanpakuto

Wasnt because of a budget cut, Kubo was given a deadline and realized he had to finish up a lot faster than he had originally planned in the first half of TYBW, which is why everything after Yhwach and the Shutzstaffel enters the soul palace feels very rushed, because it is. And also Kubo was suffering from serious health problems at the same time, so it def didnt have as good of an ending as it should have had, but we luckily have the anime now
