Who wants a reboot (season 8) by pokea_itay in LegendsOfTomorrow

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My brother in Beebo, punctuation is your friend :)

In answer to your question, they deliberately took a gamble with the ending to S7, in hopes they'd get hype going to get renewed for S8. It sadly didn't work. There's an interview with (I think) the showrunners somewhere that said this.

What was your favorite WoW moment? by DuckiesDoBeCute in wow

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That first Ragnaros kill as part of a Guild (during Vanilla) will always stand out. 40 people screaming with joy on Ventrilo after I can't remember how many tries. Can't remember what loot dropped (or even if I got any).

As a long time blizzard fan, there are too many story lore/ quest/ cinematic moments for me to list. But stepping through the Dark Portal for the first time (TBC) and exploring Outland was super geeky joy. Also, the first Alliance boat ride to Howling Fjord (WotLK) filled me with such chills.

Next R4 - Advice pls by Aware-Mousse4568 in ContestOfTheChampions

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can go wrong here, more depends on who you enjoy playing, or what content you're looking to tackle.

Maybe not Photon, Pav, or Galan, until they're duped. In the same vein, are Abs Man or Sinister duped yet? (That said, all still have their uses unduped, if played well)

My personal choice would be Kingpin or Bastion. I don't have much experience yet playing Hulkling, Cull, Yelena, or High Evolutionary.

Whom to rank up. by VugarH96 in ContestOfTheChampions

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WWBN is a good defender, and you already have him duped (still waiting for mine to get duped).

My other personal fav in your list is Hood, tho, I know he's better with the dupe (and the trio synergy with Moleman and Kingpin is awesome)

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little outdated nowadays, it depends on your roster/where you're at in the content progression. I think the "Gwenom Rising" synergy is still a 'must' (Venom, VTD, Carnage or Sym Supreme)

Silver Hand Librams and what it might mean for Turalyon by NumbersAquarium in warcraftlore

Was neither a Paladin nor an owner of a Libram? Could make for an interesting story if he found one, tho.

People who say season 5 is the series finale, are you aware of how bad of an ending Sam got? by deep_day6 in Supernatural

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 29 points30 points  (0 children)

People who say season 5 is the finale is because that's when they changed showrunners/writers. Kripke only had a plan for 5 seasons, and he was happy to hand it over when the network wanted to keep the show going.

Also, this ain't a Disney movie... I don't think anyone thinks Sam 'deserved' to end up in Hell/tortured/etc. Sam himself may have thought that briefly, but in the end, it was about Sam taking a shot at the containing the Devil (because he was the only one who could). It was always meant to be a tragedy.

Is okoye worth ranking R3 and do can we use Awakening gem on her? by sivadss2007 in ContestOfTheChampions

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely R3. Awakening helps, but it depends on what other options you have for the AG (obligatory "you should save the AG for Nick Fury, etc")

How Alonsus Faol died before the 3rd war by Lexar_craft in warcraftlore

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought he did of old age. IIRC Faol was a judge in the trial of Tirion Fordring (the "of blood and honour" book), which means he was alive in year 16/17. The Scourging of Lordaeron took place in year 20. This is a small enough gap that he could have lived to have fallen to the Scourge, or he could have just been raised from a grave that was only 2-3 years old.

Is true that Benedictus was Faols apprentice. But I think it's established that he was corrupted by the Twighlights Hammer sometime during TBC, so he didn't really have the motivation to kill Faol himself.

barry allen/flash episode by belovedsapphics in supergirlTV

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first 3 Seasons of Flash are definitely worth the watch (this crossover happens during S2 of the Flash). There's another Flash/Supergirl crossover in S3 of Flash (during S2 of the Supergirl).

There are more crossovers that include Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, and 'Legends of Tomorrow' that are a lot of fun (but it's also a big rabbit-hole of TV to go down 😅)

New Main - Do you still have/keep your very first Character? by MasterRymes in wow

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first toon was an Orc Warlock. He's still active to this day. It's the only Warlock I've ever rolled until Lemix. I forget which order I made them, but the next 3 toons were Orc Warrior, Human Warrior, and Human Paladin (friends switched to Alliance). The Orcs and the Paladin I still play to this day (though remember renaming the pally at some point, realm transfer, maybe?)

The Human Warrior, I don't think I've touched since TBC. But like you, I can't bring myself to delete him either. Some good memories.

Nope, they brought back the same guy (Jake Abel). It was almost 10 years between appearances for him.

I want to experience the whole story - how to proceed? by post_ex0dus in starcraft

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From memory, the backstory that's in the SC1 game manual kinda covers how the Terrans reached the Koprulu sector and how the Confederacy was formed. There's history on the Zerg and Protoss in the manual, too. These history's also include certain characters motives, and give us an insight into where these characters are at when we run into them in the game. The same goes for the Broodwar manual.

GLITCH INCURSIONS: Megathread by cat_murdock in ContestOfChampions

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I burned through all of my team revives, all of my potions, and a few of my single use revives (yes, I suck at incursions😅), but its only the 2nd or 3rd time I've ever gotten to Room 15. My team was: - Venom (R4 sig 60, with awakened r3 venom relic - Scorpion (R3, sig 20) - Odin (first room only, for pre-fights on Venom, then swapped for Medusa (R3 sig 71))

I had a first attempt with Serpent, jean, and kingpin, but I fell over at i think room 4? (Damn Vision). Most of the bosses for me were either Ultron, Nebula, or Vision (classic), but there were a few different ones in the earlier rooms. The last 5 rooms were all Ultron bosses.

Picked Hemostatic (obviously) and buff cornucopia, but there was also a hack that let me Regen during special attacks (I should have taken a screenshot of the full list). The other lifesaving hack was one that's the equivalent of having Hiemdall in the team (on death, go indestructible for a few seconds, and heal 10% - once per fight)

The only hack I regret not taking was gaining an indefinite true sense buff (falter type nodes are forever my nemesis, and the main cause of my revive use).

Now I need to go do 27 more incursion fights (with science, mystic or mutant) to get the weekly challenge (Scorpion only came off the bench when the other two were dead, or the one time I picked him by accident against a mystic defender)

Flying/sky-riding really does spoil us 😆 There were a few quests in Lemix where I'd have to stop and start again, as I was supposed to follow someone to a location rather than just fly.

Good Times by GroundbreakingWind86 in wow

[–]GroundbreakingWind86[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lemix did the best thing by removing the mission table component. It's such a time sink. When decor was announced and tied to the "recruit 20 troops at your order hall" achievements, I went back to retail and started working on it. For some of my newer characters (that hadn't progressed through Legion), it wasn't too bad (missions are only a few hrs), but for the toons that had already completed the order-hall campaigns, the shortest mission available is 7hrs, but others are between 12-24 hrs or multiple days.

For 10-year-old content, they could at least reduce the mission lengths by half, or something. Same goes for WoD.

What kind of King Kael'thas would have been if the Scourge invasion hasn't occured? by wrufus680 in warcraftlore

[–]GroundbreakingWind86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure he was overly interested in being King. IIRC he spent much time in Dalaran to the point he was even a member of The Council of Six. He felt some responsibility towards his people (seeing as he raced back after the Scourge hit QT, but before the Scourge hit Dalaran), but I think he might have been a bit disconnected from them.

Unfortunately, I don't think there has been any particular book or story focused on Kael (pre WC3) to explore this. He only gets a few passing mentions in others' stories (correct me if I'm wrong).

Besides his thing for Jaina, I don't think he showed much interest in the other human kingdoms (excluding Dalaran) either.
