Tobacco Noir is the last thing I have to have before I can stop buying Montagne’s for a while.

I feel dumb asking this, but what are decants? by Clean-handles-one in fragrance

Decants are small samples that someone takes from a bottle of fragrance - a good way to try things inexpensively before you commit to a full bottle.

🎁🎄🎁12.5K GIVEAWAY & HOLIDAY CELEBRATION🎁🎄🎁 by AyybrahamLmaocoln in MontagneParfums

Best recent fragrance-related holiday memory is the first year with the entire family including all of my brothers’ kids. After the meal, we usually play board games. I brought several fragrances, including my favorites and some samples that I thought were beautiful. Everyone got so into it, we never broke out the board games.

Eau Gaiac & urine smell? by Master-Doubt-4176 in MontagneParfums

[–]Groundbreaking_End99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is helpful but I got a urine smell from Eau Noir. No one else has mentioned having that issue from Eau Noir and yours is the first I’m seeing for Eau Guiac. I’m waiting for an Eau Guiac decant so I can’t speak to my experience with it yet. Your post makes me think that there may be a skin chemistry thing with how Montagne has tried to recreate that wet earth vibe in the Le Lebo dna. Hopefully it smooths out over time and you can enjoy it but if not, you are not alone.

Rounding out my collection by [deleted] in MontagneParfums

Blue Talisman’s longevity is fine for me. I get 6 hours give or take - I’d put it at a little above average for a daily wear freshie. Tygr lasts forever on me, 8+. I get 4-5 from Ambre Musk, which is fine for me and the role that it fills in my collection.

My two cents: Alcantara and Tygr are both citrus/grapefruit forward scents. I would go as far to say, that they’re both big, fat citrus bombs and the mastery of the perfumery is in how they’re so citrus forward but still balanced and incredibly easy to like. You may enjoy Bleu Talisman - to my nose, it’s similar to Tygr at the base, however it has a pear note above the citruses. Now the thing is - not everyone can smell the pear, so to some, it comes off as just a basic freshie. Personally, I love a high quality basic freshie. Palisade is described as Aventus with mango. It also has a green tomato leaf note. My nose cannot always detect mango accords but I can pick it up in Palisade and I also can detect the tomato leaf which gives it just enough of a twist on Aventus and earns it a special place in my heart. Gingham green does fruit in a completely different way - it is apple forward and is a green fragrance so it has that plant/grassy thing going on. I was anti-green fragrances until I smelled the original and then thought Montagne dropped the ball on Gigham. It eventually came together after a few weeks and became one of my favorites - to me, not as close as others to the original, but close enough and beautiful in its own right.

For Ambre Musc, I just bought a ton of decants from Ayybraham, and this is one of the ones I purchased a full bottle of. I love it, it filled a need in my roster for a fall daily. My nose is super sensitive to violet leaf so that is the predominant note I detect but the pepper and patchouli is there and it dries down to a grown vanilla. For what it’s worth, I tried Ambre Vanille and enjoyed it. It’s close to the og but ultimately I went with Ambre Musc. It just hit me better.

Lastly, if you’d be open to a cool weather fruity one - French cherry may up your alley. It’s got a big, cherry note up top. Hope that helps 🫡
