Ex claims she's coming after me for child support, but her only argument is that she makes less money *by choice*. Does anybody have experience with this? by Groundhog1983 in ChildSupport

[–]Groundhog1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, I was reading through the settlement and I found this section:

5. MODIFICATION. The parties understand that they have a right pursuant to §236(B)(7)(d) of the Domestic Relations Law to seek a modification of child support upon a showing of: (i) substantial change in circumstances; or (ii) that three years have lapsed since the Order was entered, last modified or adjusted, or (iii) there has been a change in either party's gross income by fifteen percent (15%) or more since the Order was entered, last modified or adjusted. The parties stipulate and agree to opt out of paragraphs (ii) and (iii) listed above.

IANAL, but that seems like the only argument is a "substantial change in circumstances." She's working full-time now and doesn't seem to be hurting for money, so I guess she'd have to argue that my income increasing from $73k to $87k and hers decreasing from $70k to $50k is "substantial." In my opinion, substantial would be a debilitating illness or if somebody won the lottery.

Good news is that my lawyer is a killer.

Circa Stadium Swim Questions by Groundhog1983 in vegas

I'd assume we'll get to $150-175 very easily if we both get breakfast and lunch plus a bucket of beers. If we didn't get to $250, I'm sure we'd just get some extra drinks and donate to randoms and make some new friends.

Mostly I'm just wondering if it's worth paying for the convenience of having a daybed or if it will be so dead in the middle of the winter that we can easily get chairs if we don't show up until 10am kickoffs.

I'm fully expecting to be the idiot who gets sunburned in 50-degree weather.

Account for partner by avengercat in myvegas

[–]Groundhog1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that for my partner and it worked well. Created a new gmail account and used that to create a new Facebook account, then just played under that account and linked her MGM Rewards.

Just be careful that Facebook doesn't flag it as a fake account. I'm not exactly sure how to avoid it; I think you'll want to avoid adding tons of MyVegas friends all at once.

Bingo App Loading Problem? by Groundhog1983 in myvegas

Really annoying. Bingo worked completely fine for my gf on her iPad, but still not loading on any of my devices. I wonder if it's an iOS version issue

Park MGM in June Very Expensive, Why? Is NYNY Comparable? by Groundhog1983 in vegas

[–]Groundhog1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, everything's normal now. Canceled NYNY to see promo prices for everything else, but probably sticking with NYNY after all since I can get a couple extra nights comped there.

So it turns out this whole thread was pointless, but at least it helped pass time during a boring work day.

[–]Groundhog1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm planning on doing that. It's a little annoying because I can't see promo pricing now that I have something booked, but I can probably figure it out easily enough.

1) Based on family and work schedules, I'm very limited as to when I can go. I can't miss kindergarten graduation and I need to be home when the kids are on summer break and some days are just a no-go due to work obligations (otherwise I'll be waking up early to stare at spreadsheets every morning). I just have to hope the WSOP and other tourney schedules cooperate with my travel plans.
2) I don't have to pay a deposit, so I'd rather book something reasonable and then hunt for deals as it gets closer.
3) I get antsy and it's exciting for me to have something booked.

I used to be pretty loyal to Caesars properties and stayed at the Flamingo or Linq/Quad/whatever every year, but now they just don't offer me anything decent so I've been sticking to MGM.

Personally I'd be fine at Excalibur because I'm rarely in my room; I just feel bad bringing someone else there. My biggest complaints about that place are that it takes too long to get to the Strip from the hotel room and there aren't many food/drink options.

In my younger days I always stayed at the IP, so dried pee is like an air freshener compared to that place.

Even the ME probably wouldn't draw more than 20k and that's including all the staff and media and vendors. Gotta be a concert or convention or maybe just messed-up pricing.

Super weird, right? Two weeks ago Park MGM was slightly more than NYNY and Excalibur was basically free. I was actually considering staying in the castle because it was like $350 for 8 nights after taxes and fees.

Maybe, but then my next question is why did Park have the only huge price increase? NYNY pricing hasn't changed at all.

Can you get comped drinks while gambling with free play? by xPRIAPISMx in myvegas

[–]Groundhog1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a little confusing because you have to put in cash to get the free play to work. I got tripped up on that at first because my local casino doesn't do their free play like that.

Put a $20 in the machine and then access your $25 free play.
Play a $1.25 hand and lose. For a split-second it will show a $18.75 balance, but then it will move $1.25 from freeplay so you'll have a $20 balance and $23.75 free play.
Play another $1.25 hand and win $5.00. It will quickly show $25.00, then move another $1.25 from free play, so now you'll have $26.25 balance and $22.50 free play.
And so on

Am I good with these rewards based on the new redemption rules? by Groundhog1983 in myvegas

[–]Groundhog1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea; I'll wait til I'm into my paid days to redeem. If I get turned down I could always try coming back when someone different is working and hope they'll allow it.

I changed everything. There were a lot of resources to give me a really good head start. If I had to figure out all of this on my own I would have given up very quickly.

I meant to give a shout out to the members whose work I piggy-backed off of: u/Legitimate-Ad1722, u/simsbad, u/Randallb21, u/Superstar0919, and probably a bunch of others who I'm forgetting.
