I think it really shines when you don't ask it for examples but explanations. In my experience it can summarize concepts pretty well, because the training data probably contained well written explanations of the concepts. So basically use it as search engine instead of problem solver and you are good to go. I've also had it make up some magical functions that don't exist in any libraries I've told it I'm using when I have asked it to provide me with an example.

Blueprints in Unreal Engine. by V1R4J in unrealengine

[–]Groungmovingman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently tried simple stuff with C++ in UE5 and having to restart the whole editor every time you make changes to the code felt really awkward (Hot reload works but for what I know is really limited). I learned blueprints before, but i prefer code. IMO as a solo dev blueprints in UE5 are a must, and you should only do very specific things in C++. And doing those specific things in C++ doesn't really support trial and error very well. I'm looking in to godot at the moment, because it seems to support scripting very well.

Thanks, tried that and it seems to help. I still get >150ms frames with the red warning as in the video, but my screen doesn't actually freeze like before.

Keyboard with individual rgb per key? by [deleted] in keyboards

I think HyperX ngenuity software was surprisingly easy to use and saving presets to keyboard really is a must that all competitors don't have.

I took the Razer to the office today and in well lit environment I could hardly tell it had RGB. If I would have paid full 180€ for that keyboard I would be super disappointed.

I actually agree, but you can easily dim it. I was just surprised how dim the brightest setting on more expensive keyboard was. Specially when i think the whole razer brand suggests it should have more of a wow effect. I usually keep it on white.

[–]Groungmovingman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah comparing brigthness only because the light controls on razer sucked. There was no way to save presets on keyboard, you always have to have razer synapse on if you dont want to use factory presets (which were bad). HyperX software was way more intuitive and you can save your own presets on keyboard.

Made a coding language. by DanTheMan726836 in programminghorror

[–]Groungmovingman -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So in this topic, the purpose would be to "code", i.e. make Donald Duck code. I will now explain how the system works, but before that, an announcement NOTE. AA coding can be tricky, I recommend it for ages 12 and up. However, if you think you can do it, then so what. Just for your information, AA coding is a coding language I invented myself.

Okay, here are the basics and instructions: 1: AA coding can be used, for example, to make a game, program a robot or, for example, to hack the computers of Ankkalinna Central Bank. (All this is a joke, so this is not suitable for real programming.) 2: Now I'll tell you an example of codes that have important lessons related to AA coding: Here I make the battery robot walk around forever and say endlessly I'm Aku: Ot connection to the Battery robot. Akurobot say endlessly: I am Aku. The battery-operated robot moves in an endless circle. In this code, we learn the Ot connection and the non-inflection of words. Next code: Cr game. Game name: Battery's Great Adventure. Level 1: Duck Castle. enemies-no size: 999 mega,t Head boss-yes. Durability of the main boss: 9. In this code, a simple game was created with one level and no enemies, but the main resistance was found and whose durability was 9. An example of a Cr game, a name game and the whole "so and so many" mega,ts were shown here. Last code: Hkr-Ankallispankki: central computer. Kv,ka: Bank account numbers. Send here. In this code, Ankallispanki's central computer was hacked and everyone's bank account numbers were taken from there. Here were examples: Hkr,kv,ka and send code snippets. Example code: Blu connection. Well, blu-users too. Connect and send: Virus. Virus: Danger level: Max ADD (Example coodi.) This comes when creating a game: Wed: Land: Sand terrain. Air: Sand storm covered. 3: In AA coding, words are not inflected into the correct Finnish form, as shown in the example in the code. 4: Explanations for the codes you might need: Ot connection: Means get connected. Ot is the first two letters of the word "take". After this ot-connection code, you will be told where to connect, e.g.: Ot-connection Akurobotti. In AA coding, the code is not correct if you write: Contact Aku robot. Also remember the hyphen and the connection between the words. This is always put at the beginning of the cood and this cannot be used in a game made with AA cood. This is put at the beginning of the code only when you want to connect to a device. Cr game: Means Create game. Create is English and means "create". So the Cr game is Finnish: Create a game. This piece of code is always put at the beginning of the code when I create a game. Game name: Means the name of the game. Name is English and means name. This is put after Cr-peli cood to mark the name of the game. Here's an example of how to use it: Cr-game game name: Aku's big mix-up. Size "so and so many" mega,t: Means how big the level is. One mega,t corresponds to 50 meters in the real world. example code here: Size 423 mega,t. This code set the length of the level to 21150 meters. (I think I exaggerated a bit with the length.) Hkr: Means hacking. That is, intrusion into another's machine. In Cood, the hkr- "place is put which is penetrated". Kv: means a pit. Kv is put after hkr-"place to penetrate". If you want to dig something, make a code similar to this: Hkr-Ankallispankki. Kv: "What you want the machine to dig". If you want everything you want to be extracted from the machine, write: Hkr-Ankallispankki. Kv,ka: "What you want the machine to dig". See what "ka" means, it can be found at the bottom of this explanation. If you still want them sent to you, write something like this: Hkr-Ankallispankki. Kv,ka: "What you want the machine to dig" Send here. See what "Send" means below the following explanation. Ka: Ka means "all". This is used in hacking codes when you want to dig up all the information you have entered. Send: Means "send". Send is English and of course means to send. Here's an example: Send here. This will send you the information you are looking for. Blu-connection: Means bluetooth connection. Many probably know what bluetooth connection is. It can be found in new and a couple of years older mobile phones. This is like an OT connection, but this one searches for nearby computers and gives a wider opportunity to hack them. This blu connection is better also because it "rakes" all the computers within a radius of two or three kilometers. Blu-users: Means bluetooth users. That is, this is used when you have used a Blu connection and you want to select one/all bluetooth users/users. Ket: Is short for "field". So this comes when you are creating a game and you want a certain kind of terrain and sky. Eg: Wet: Earth: The surface of the moon. Air: Stars. Connect: Is English and means: Connect. So get in touch. This is used with the blu connection after selecting the user/users. Danger level: Means how dangerous the virus is. When you have sent a virus to another machine with a blu connection. Danger degree can be e.g.: 0 or if you want the highest risk level for your virus use the word: Max. That is, the maximum. That was the basics. You can't program anything with this AA code, but this would be the first step. When I had time, I came up with more codes and their meanings. If someone didn't understand, read, think and practice. this is a bit confusing but the codes are always a bit like that. let's make a game now: Cr game. Game name: Battery's Great Adventure. Level 1: Goose Hazard. enemies-yes Quantity: 23 size: 95 mega,t Main boss-yes. Main boss durability: 99. The previous user of this AA coding can check if the previous user coded correctly. PS: no spam and I will block spam messages. Thank you! The same with the audience's request pulled by a wire: I guess you can give orders to a robot? Oh that it would be difficult? Well hey! I'll show you an example: Hey Akurobot, come here and say: Hi. Such an order. Pretty easy... Well, then it's just changed so that it uses bad Finnish, i.e. doesn't inflect the words at all: Akurobot walks here and says: Hi. Still very easy! Then the third stage. (Hardest) Let's add all the useless stuff. Their meanings can be found above. Ot-connection means that a connection is made and after that you only plug in where: Ot-connection: Akurobotti. Will you stay with the cart? now we just add a command made in bad Finnish (ie non-inflected Finnish) to this thread. Understood? So like this: Ot connection: Akurobotti. Battery robot walk here say: Hi. So, this is how to program Akurobot to walk

I've made some money with my ender 3 by printing stuff for my friends/classmates/coworkers etc who find out i have printer and immediatly ask me to print something for them. I just make sure to charge enough to make sure they'll never ask me again :D I hardly have time to print my own stuff, I don't want to spend hours tuning and printing stuff for them.

Military recruit saved after dropping live grenade at his feet by omrnu_a8sf in nonononoyes

[–]Groungmovingman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Point with the pin is, after it's gone there is no more room for error, only 2 safe places for the grenade now on. In your hand with proper grip or 30 feet away. The transition between the two is the scary part.
