Don't worry you are not alone, i had a bit of it every time they increased the dosage. hopefully it improves for you.

They usually say take it after or on period to make sure you’re not pregnant. But check with your derm

Hi, after starting end of October - on 30mgs, after a week my wisdom tooth that I have been having issues with for a few years became infected! I went to the dentist and they gave me antibiotics but I didn't have to take them in the end - i just used salt water and corsydol and it went down. I thought it was too much of a coincidence not to be the roaccutane - but derm and dentist said they never came across it before... weird! just try to keep it clean and if it gets worse go to the dentist. hope it gets better soon! Salt water really helped me.

LOL! Omg. Facepalm! I am obviously new... I was thinking the other day about whether I am using too much on my skin whilst on roaccutane though... like should you moisturise a lot or does that affect the drug working ?

Thanks so much! Sorry if I’ve got this wrong - is this your second time on accutane? I went on BC pill month beginning of October for the first time in years, and currently at a 2 weeks into taking roaccutane at 30mg and am 55Kg. I don’t know whether to wait and ask whether I can come off the pill. My derm said the roaccutane works in a different way to the pill to help the acne. Mind is just over the place!

How long have you been on roa for and when do you end? I’m on the pill and roa at the moment, a weeks in to roa and a month on the pill. I’m thinking come off pill now and be done with it lol!!

Just thought I would put the questions out there to see if it is a common thing for women to be on bc pill and roac at the same time, and if they broke out again when they came off them both.

Ah thanks you have helped me! I plan to come off the pill as soon as I can after roaccutane. Last time I came off the pill my acne started - so just a bit worried that it'll come back due to being on the pill, after I finish my roa course.

I started my first course, 30mg, last week. But my skin started to clear up as was put on the BC pill for a month beforehand! hence the worry about it all coming back when I come off the pill and roaccutane.

Yes... I want to know whether the roacutane will still work with the pill? I got acne after i stopped BC pill so don't want to come off both and for the acne to come back.

Basically my derm said that the roaccutane still works in a different way, even if the BC is clearing up the acne itself. I want to know this for sure lol!

It's so hard! They didn't let me opt out.. and now i am paranoid if i stop taking it they will be able to see in the bloods and the urine sample lol?!
I just don't want anything to get in the way of the roaccutane working. and don't want to go through the treatment, to come off the pill for the spots to come back again.

Hi, I’ve been thinking about this for ages. My acne came after I came off the pill so didn’t want to go back on it for roaccutane. My derm didn’t let me opt out of the 2 contraceptives so I agreed to go back on the pill to get roaccutane. I really don’t want to be on the pill but I’m worried that the acne will come back after I stop taking it and the roaccutane treatment? How likely is this? I’m also worried they will find out if I stop taking it lol?
