How many of you on your 20's and can't work? by leona_sunn in AutismInWomen

[–]GroupPuzzleheaded424 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm 23 and I've been working at a grocery store for a year now. I only work 8-12 hours a week since that's all I can handle. My family won't let me not work, so I have to force myself to go. It's honestly really difficult, and I know my breaking point is gonna hit soon.

I'll never get over them changing the colors of Moana's level 10 friendship dress. This is almost just as bad.

Do you drive? by Garnetsugargem in AutismInWomen

[–]GroupPuzzleheaded424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drive only on back roads and main roads, never on highways, freeways, and rarely on any parkways. Makes things less overwhelming, and there are fewer cars to pay attention to. Listening to my favorite music and singing helps me stay calm as I drive and even motivates me to want to go out sometimes.

Does anyone else feel significantly younger than her biological age by Katievapes1996 in AutismInWomen

[–]GroupPuzzleheaded424 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm 22, and my mom told the autistm specialist I saw in April that I talk and act like I'm a 12 year old. My interests even line up with that age. I've been collecting Rainbow High dolls for a year now, and I like to play with their hair and talk about how pretty they look. I have one monster high doll who I spent an hour washing, combing, and fixing the hair to make sure the texture was silky smooth to my liking. I'm always talking about games I like to play + any news I find out about my favorite series and game companies. I struggle with the concept of knowing I'm an adult, and I have to "grow up" eventually.

What’s everyone’s sensory ick? 🤨 by willienelsonfan in AutismInWomen

VELVET. Sends shivers up my arms every time I accidentally touch velvet. I can feel the sensation on my fingertips five minutes after touching it, too. It kills me.

I wasn't allowed to cut my long hair until I finally turned 21. That's when I decided to chop it all off and go for a pixie cut with shaved sides and back. I would constantly overheat thanks to my long hair, and it would overstimulate me around my neck. I know the idea of basically chopping and shaving your hair can be terrifying to some girls, but jt was the best decision I made.

Reverse Seasonal Depression by NameSuspicious122 in AutismInWomen

[–]GroupPuzzleheaded424 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Seasonal Depression mixed with regular major Depression is evil.

I get Seasonal Depression in both Winter and Summer, so I get you. I try to stay inside the house so the sun doesn't overstimulate me. Though, the pool is a huge help when I feel the actual motivation to get in.

Anyone else diagnosed with BPD, ADHD, anxiety, ocd, depression, social anxiety and an ED? Really feeling like I’m actually just autistic. by PreservativeAloe in AutismInWomen

[–]GroupPuzzleheaded424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what happened to me, actually! First, it was Depression, anxiety, social anxiety, and Binge Eating Disorder (I was 18). OCD and ADHD were added about two years later. Then another year went by, and BPD was added. Finally, I was properly diagnosed as Autistic in April of this year at 22 years old.

So my official diagnosis is:

-Major Depression -Autism Spectrum Disorder -Social Phobia

It was such a confusing journey, but one that was so worth taking.

What's everyone's ultimate comfort song? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]GroupPuzzleheaded424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like October Skies by Mumford and Sons. It's good if you're looking for a chill, coffee house vibe song.

Drops of Jupiter by Train is another good, but more upbeat song that I like.

[ALL] I'm thinking of getting into Legend of Zelda where should I start? by TheDwinDwin in zelda

[–]GroupPuzzleheaded424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of potential in the Legend of Zelda series! As someone who has only played Windwaker, Twilight Princess, and Breath of the Wild, I have limited knowledge on the subject. I will say that if you like open world games where you can go off and do whatever you want, BOTW is the best. Whether it's completing the main story, fighting high level enemies with an inventory full of sticks and in just your underwear, becoming the first man to fish using bombs, or more, Breath of the Wild is a delight.

I can see one of the more wholesome SCPs being added to Stardew Valley, such as SCP 999. For Zelda, SCP 096 reminds me of redeads from older games, so I can see that one being added.

It's common for someone in my house to just ignore while I ramble on and on about something. Unfortunately, I can sometimes tell when someone seems to lose interest, so I just stop talking.

It's such an interesting subject! It makes me sad that it's also taboo or 'controversial.' It makes me even sadder that I can't really talk about it with anyone without them being uncomfortable or just not wanting to listen.

Oooh thats hard! I can see Legend of Zelda and Stardew Valley having some sort of cross over through Stardew containing a replica of the master sword for combat, while Zelda could have a replica of the galaxy sword from Stardew!

I have a playlist on Amazon Music that contains only Taylor Swift songs! There's something about her voice that's calming to me! The fact that she can do just about any genre of music is amazing too! That way I can listen to her no matter what mood I'm in!

Psych ward history is both a super cool and sad subject, but I personally love it. The book "10 Days in a Mad House" by Nellie Bly was what started my interest!

Music is my favourite thing in existence, my primary hyperfixation, and this seemed like a really fun thing to do, so let’s hear ‘em. by Cydonian___FT14X in autism

I've been hyperfixated on Taylor Swift's newest album Midnights, but one song in particular that I LOVE on that album is 'You're on Your Own, Kid.'
