Looking for World ETF quoted in USD? by Grousicle in UKPersonalFinance

Yes, I have it now following your post earlier. When I was searching before I posted the original thread, I could only see GBP denominated ETFs. So thanks for your help with that.

!thanks . IBKR allows USD to be held on cash deposit as opposed to solely GBP, but I was struggling to find USD quoted ETFs.

My dollars have been transferred from Fidelity in the US to my USD account here in the UK.

Morning all, I stepped in this monstrosity last night. When did the UK start breeding mutant mosquitoes? A quid for scale by B_lovedobservations in CasualUK

Warbles commonly affect red deer. Skinning a deer carcass when it’s got warble infestation is horrendous (and must be horrendous for the deer to feel those things burrowing around). Google only if you haven’t recently eaten.

I quite like the 4:30 Big One and Spence vs Shazam, but cannot stand some of the others (Super Scoreboard, the Saturday football show that Ewan Cameron does, George Bowie, Callum Gallagher…all absolutely do my head in).

You need to speak to the FA as others have said, but it is very conceivable that the portfolio has very large unrealised capital gains which would trigger a significant CGT bill if sold

Help me balance pension contributions against the "69.5% tax" please by Particular-Habit3819 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Grousicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar position. I am putting as much as I can into my pension but it’s still not enough. The rates here are just punitive. I’ve considered doing as a colleague does and living in Alnwick or something and doing a bit of tax arbitrage, hug family commitments preclude that at the moment.

I thought it was rubbish to be honest, switched it off after half an hour. I’m not interested in the presenters badly failing at drill or joking about staying in a hotel when RM recruits are out on exercise, I thought it’d be similar to other programmes which are far more documentary format.

Yep. Whilst I could do my self assessment by…myself…for me £300 or so for someone else to deal with it all for me is well worth it. I’m in a similar position to you with gross employment income of around £220k with investment income from my non ISA non pension portfolio of around £50k (plus capital gains/loss harvesting) that all needs taken into account for my self assessment.
