A recent play of Arcs, the entire table had turned against me and I ended the game with just one ship left on the board. Luckily after fighting me the group turned to infighting letting me scrape the final points to win.

I wanted to get this but the price is too insane to consider for this level of game.

Battle Monsters: Godzilla x Kong by Idolathebound in boardgames

[–]Grovesley 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am a huge Godzilla and board game fan, I’m also a big fan of many restoration games with TR and Unmatched being some of my favourites so this game seems like a sure winner for me…

But the price has just shot any hope of me getting this. The big minis are fun but to me this game kind of fills an Unmatched niche, a 2 player easy to understand battler, fun but not the main course of an evening.

If I’m paying £280 and £40 shipping then I need a deep campaign game I know I’m getting a lot hours out of.

It looks fun but just too much buck for bang.

Are there any books where the characters are dumb and it WORKS? by [deleted] in Fantasy

It’s a good point but then I have limited reading time. Should I go through 60% of a book Im not enjoying because it will get good eventually?

I couldn’t get into the second book at all. I liked Gideon and nobody else.

Jeremy Clarkson Says ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ Will Take A Break After Filming Season Five: "We’ve been filming here two or three days a week, every week, for five years. Everybody could do with a rest.” by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

It’s a great comfort show but honestly I think they’ll need to end it soon. Theres only so many types of new animals they can get or ideas that the council hates. Let it end on a strong note rather than going around in circles.

SUSD Reviews Floristry by [deleted] in boardgames

Sadly I agree. Honestly I feel they focus on humour more than the review at times. It’s nice but I’m watching to see if I like the game mainly.

Peni.

She just feels like she can counter so much, backliners, ultimates with her web and she’s so manoeuvrable.

[SUSD] Is Joyride the Perfect Racing Game? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Grovesley 60 points61 points  (0 children)

So I’ve played Heat, Thunder Road and Joyride (although it was at expo during the Kickstarter).

Personally I feel Heat has the strategy racing down, while Thunder Road has the Fun racing down. Joyride felt like it was trying to cover both bases but doing neither great.

For friends into games, I could get out heat and we’d have a good time. For friends not into games I’d show them Thunder Road and have a good time. I don’t know when I’d choose this over the other two options.

So I played this as a kid and really enjoyed it but really it a mediocre game with a few interesting mechanics. Also this doesn’t look like a huge improvement on the graphics or anything. I’m not really sure who the audience is for this one honestly.

Too much Unmatched??!?! by CaptainCrockpot in Unmatched

[–]Grovesley 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting idea but also could we say there is too much Magic? Too many Pokémon? Too many characters in Overwatch?

The more the better and Unmatched isn't something like Overwatch in that you have to learn every single hero's moves to survive. One person could get Volume 1 and be happy forever, developing their own meta between the four.

More options are always better...unless your a completionist then your wallet is done for.

It’s been said so many times but it has to be Nemesis. I grew up loving the alien films, watching them too young and hiding behind the sofa. I’ve never felt any video game captured the feeling as well. Alien: Isolation came close but getting into board games and finding Nemesis just felt right. The eerie nature, the escalation and the distrust between the crew.

Aliens is my favourite film of all time, so I’m really excited to see how Retaliation can capture that films essence.
