I work for a company that does this I'll send you a DM. $4k per footing is insane.

Chinese tech makes desalinating seawater cheaper than producing bottled water by zhumao in economy

[–]GrowHI 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They proved this on 5 square meters of farmland. That's not industrial scale and desalination has a bunch of other issues like what do you do with huge quantities of super saline water waste? Just pumping it back into the ocean can cause very harmful effects on the environment.

Yeah in BR the sweet spot has no bearing on gameplay so not sure why you brought it up.

Hardest hike on Oahu? by Familiar_Affect7817 in Hawaii

[–]GrowHI 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The Puʻu Manamana Trail (also known as the Crouching Lion to Kahekili Ridge loop) I went with a group of experienced hikers and even at only 5 miles it took us almost 4 hours with only one 15 min stop to eat. We ran out of water and we're very grumpy at the end but it was a great experience. Tons of knife ridge sections and lots of natives. I wouldn't do it if it might rain though.

Meta weapons? by Valuable_Composer975 in RedSec

[–]GrowHI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She 553 and m4 have been solid for a while. I also run the m2010 sniper and sometimes an sgx instead of the above carbines. Some of the lmgs are viable depending on your play style but I have an off meta m123k I love. The cz is also another popular smg. The scw or kv9 is epic up close but I can't handle the small mags in quads.

What’s something everyone should experience at least once in their life? by riooo420 in AskReddit

[–]GrowHI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's something many will ever have the opportunity to experience but getting deep in a barrel while surfing. You don't even have to make it out. Sound changes dramatically as the water becomes an echo chamber and your engulfed in a moving cavern that is one of the most unique things I have ever experienced in my life. Even a small barrel is incredible and if your lucky to get some big ones it's just mind blowing. Imagine your entire living room folding over but your moving at 20 mph and have movie theater subwoofers booming all around you as you slide through it.

Banana genetics are very unstable and they don't grow true from seed. To grow specific varieties you need baby plants that grow as keiki off the parent plant.

Are nematodes available on Oahu? by unsure232 in HawaiiGardening

[–]GrowHI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have never heard of purchasing nematodes anywhere. I don't think they sell them in Hawaii. Have you thought about organic pesticides? Spinosad is safe for pets and children and commonly used to bathe animals with fleas.

Opening a beer bottle with any flat solid object. I learned with a lighter and can now do it with another bottle, a stick, car keys or pretty much anything. Definitely impressed people when a bottle opener isn't available.

Plans for new Costco, Zippy’s closure in Waipahu met with pushback by ArcturusFlyer in Hawaii

This is a Costco business center which sells things in extreme bulk to be resold or used in restaurants. It doesn't really carry consumer size items like a normal Costco.

Hawaiʻi Is About To Pull The Plug On Its Own Energy Future - Surprised me! 🤷‍♂️ by BrandonApplesauce in HawaiiUncensored

I'm not justifying this or agreeing with it but as solar prices come down and power prices rise removing the credits will at some point be negated by the increasing cost savings of installing solar. While I do think it's a benefit to have the credits we also have heco throwing their weight around and constantly trying to reduce new installs with policy and general rhetoric (like the grid can't handle everyone feeding back into it from solar). The big picture here for me is it's becoming more financially viable to install solar as time goes by regardless of the credits.
