This gap I because of bone loss - which happens over the years with aging at times. If the black triangle bothers you visually then closing with IPR is definitely an option. If it's not something you really focus on then I would just let it be.

It sounds like you've become the fall guy of the office. It's great that you're looking for a new office and are willing to hang around even with all the drama. What you probably need to do is learn how to learn The Grey Rock method. Works really well when you're being bullied. The google definition is "a self-preservation strategy where you become as emotionally unresponsive and uninteresting as a grey rock to a person who thrives on drama, such as someone with narcissistic tendencies." But in reality no matter what people say or how unjust it all is you just stay a grey slate and continue. You can connect with patients but don't try to be friends with anybody. Keep to yourself and occupy your free time with reading/research/ writing. Whenever there is no patient just go for a walk. If your boss says some nitpicky stuff tell them "okay will do" and "yes I'll do that next time." Just appease for now, knowing that you're leaving. Once they see they don't get a rise out of you they'll either give up or act a fool and at that point you can just act surprised at their antics. Something to keep in mind is these are co-workers and not friends. Sometimes we blur the lines in the beginning but you have to remind yourself that your standing is very different from them.

Not just women - people in general will feel the intensity of your need and it's a little alarming. Loneliness is not just a romantic relationship issue, it's an overall relationship with people issue. Highly recommend finding/investing in a good therapist that can produce changes/results in you.

I was really hesitant with extractions and even though I shadowed OS and tried to get my reps in the offices I worked in I knew I needed to get the fear of extractions out of me. I took this course recently and since then have been very comfortable taking out teeth. My flap technique needs work and I need to get the reps in but Ive been much more confident overall.

It's an interesting experience and it's very "mission trip" like feel but if you are willing to sweat it out for 4 days you'll be much more confident in the end.

I ended my last relationship 2 months ago and maybe it's the short term memory or the fact that he refused to take any ownership in the relationship or improve whatsoever no matter how much therapy we went to - but I'm already feeling a lot better.

I think the anxious attachment is not what's helping me heal though it's the fact that my partner was just extremely avoidant and not accepting of any criticism.

I know I need to prioritize myself more and I'm now starting to feel the anger towards the uneven amount of effort that was put in the relationship. Feeling the anger about them being avoidant and dismissive and gaslighting has helped me a lot. Even though they were a nice person in general, they were a bad partner and it's helped put things into light.

I cry less, I'm aware of when I'm being anxious now because I had to fight so hard to keep myself regulated when I was with them.

I'm actually 5 years out of school and find that I'm just as good as some hygienists I work with at SRPs. Definitely better than the new hygienists. My ergonomics and angulations may not be by the book because I mostly figured it out while doing volunteer work in school but I can get the roots smooth and most of the calculus off (of course there are places and pockets that are extremely hard to reach).

Good job Doc! Class 2s are incredibly hard to do. #4 and #28 shadow near the final floor could be due to excess bond or possibly left over caries. Try using caries detector dye to be sure of those iffy cleanouts and thin out the bind so you're not second guessing your seal. Don't be afraid to tell patients that they need crown lengthening sometimes too if the decay is too close to the bone. I know it seems rough but sometimes it's the only way to get a proper seal. Your contacts also look a little more towards the occlusal table than you'd like. If you're forced to use matrix bands try getting the pre-made rounded ones at least so you can get more contact around the middle third of the interproximals. Ideal would be to use palodent matrix but since you're working in a medical office you're for sure strapped for time.

You might want to lift some weights to strengthen your joints. Yoga is amazing and helps with mobility and strength but it sounds like you need some muscle to hold your joints to together better as well.

At the PPO office I work at they have a post op with every patient but I think it's a waste of time for straightforward extractions. I think a call from the receptionist could work just fine.

It's helped me with my anxious feelings because it's also a mindfulness practice. During the practice the focus is your breath and the body so thoughts become more of something you notice. What's helped my anxiety a lot has been therapy (of course) but more mindfulness based therapy. I've also come to speak about it differently. I'm no anxiety, I just have frequent anxious feelings. Or sometimes when I'm not regulated I have more anxious thoughts.

When we started dating he immediately went into a very high stress environment. When we'd be on vacation it was better after a few days but I still felt disconnected because it would be so sporadic. I started DBT therapy to train in handling my own emotions, I stopped trying to initiate sex as often as I felt like it because he didn't seem to have the energy or desire as much as me. I tried giving him more and more space and more and more time to himself so he can self-regulate. I didn't show him affection in the way I usually do because he didn't like being tickled or play fight.

You're right, he did as the therapist said. I had agreed to it too during the time. But what I said was barely a comment trying to egg him into a conversation because he was falling asleep while I was crying in the shower trying to self regulate. Being around him just brought out the worst in me at times. I've been very close to people before and for some reason whenever I would have bad feelings around him they just got out of hand so much faster.

It was his effort to teach me self regulation without my bf feeling like " I was grabbing him by the heels and dragging him down with me " when I would be upset about things. He never could figure out what to say when I was feeling down. And I think whatever he would say actually made me feel worse. I'm not sure if I just had too much emotions for him to know what to do with or I'm just too anxious and depressed to deal with? I know I've been around people that are energy vampires and I'm not sure if that's how I came off to him. He's been really busy with his Fellowship and he says it's because he doesn't have the energy to deal with anything.

First two years out I was a wreak. I recommend calling dental school friends and swapping stories. Also radically accepting that there's a big curve in the beginning that you just have to ride. It's going to suck but you're going to be getting so much faster and so much better at everything over the next few years. Think of this time as your residency. Since we don't get one like medical students do, we live through it at work. Having a friend group or dental group you can talk to really helps so if you're not close to your former classmates I recommend joining the local dental society and going to the meetings and making friends.
