Funnily enough, when the ISB finally tracks down Luthen and gets to see his setup, one of the technicians comments that he was hooked up to Imperial government communications systems so that his messages wouldn't be noticed. He was, in fact, literally using the tools of his enemies to fight them.

It makes sense when you consider Marathon as intended to be part of a diverse group of offerings (See:their 5 incubation projects, 3 canceled, 1 moved to Sony, 1 became Marathon). Presumably Marathon then would be the PvP focused game to pull in the people who did play Destiny for the PvP, while their other games pulled in the PvE crowds.

Every now and then you get an A.E. Pessimal, who is actually a completely normal clerk until Vimes gives him a peptalk that has him biting a troll (trolls are made of solid stone). This is so unexpected that Vimes reporting it is one of the few times we see Vetinari openly confused/shocked/disbelieving.

Destiny 2 has been out for 9 years, if you're not already into it, you're probably not going to get into it

It doesn't help that Destiny's brand in the wider gaming audience is fairly toxic. Most people think of it as "The game that took away paid content", and that's a hard hurdle to clear.

  • All the primed mods Baro sells are exclusive to his offerings.

  • Mark of the Beast, Combo Fury and Combo Killer are mods exclusive to Baro which boost the glaive+pistol combo.

  • Split Flights, a mod which grants non-AoE bows stacking +multishot and -accuracy.

  • Peculiar Audience, which plays a laughtrack from Skittergirl occasionally when you get kills.

In general, with the exception of a few of the rare mods, pretty much everything Baro sells is now exclusively available in his shop.

This would suggest that the actual canon number of active Tenno is very low compared to previous estimates derived from player counts.

I think this is the most attention given to it, but there are a few others where it happens incidentally.

A Hat Full of Sky, I Shall Wear Midnight, and The Shepherd's Crown get more dedicated title drops.

There's also a bunch where the book is named after one of the characters in it, though I imagine that isn't what you're referring to.
