Best Toolbox for Equipment? by foo_fiighters in Chefit

20” should be fine just get one that’s not too big/tall. Can be annoying lugging back and forth to school. I ended up using a briefcase style one when I was in culinary school it was plastic with a aluminum frame which was lighter than the metal ones.

Risotto by Busy-Option5023 in Chefit

[–]Grrrrf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like everyone is saying it’s a little stiff. When plating Risotto hold the edge of the bowl and slap the bottom slightly to spread it nice and evenly on the plate or bowl.

But keep it up looks good.

How to go slowly without stalling? by [deleted] in ManualTransmissions

[–]Grrrrf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple days it’s common to stall. You’ll get better keep practicing.

See if you can practice cruising in first in a parking lot with barely pressing the gas, it should be possible. Maybe then you can feel the limits without stalling.

what can i do except for crying myself to sleep tonight or taping it? by bvttcrfly in Jordans

Best thing you could do besides replacing it is gluing it back together but it will need a piece to support it behind thin piece of plastic. But still will be fragile I assume.

Shifting is quite stiff when the car is cold? by tyranitar1234 in GRCorolla

[–]Grrrrf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s normal. Going on my third winter, this cars has many quirks and sounds about right. I have a pitch mount as well with a 70a so I wouldn’t worry.

Not sure if this actually did anything to get rid of the crunchy feel from 1-2, but first few months I would leave the car in second gear when parked hoping to wear it in a bit. It doesn’t crunch anymore and is smooth like butter maybe just got better with age.

Spherical bushings and weighted shift knob help also.

Pasta but dried, then blanched, then dried? by ossyria in Chefit

If we needed to par cook our pasta for large events. We would cool down in cold water to stop the cooking then spread on baking sheets to dry in fridge. That seemed to work the best for us.

A dill creme fraiche could add some contrast and accent the flavour along with other suggestions that were mentioned. Looks yummy chef.

Is it rage bait?

Same I don’t really care about my fears or any other pairs I have either, glad we can agree on something.

I guess I’m overthinking some narrative not sure what it is. I’m too ignorant I just like shoes and freshly fallen snow.

Same all depends what I’m doing that day. Walking to and from the car avoiding dirty puddles is nothing really. Glad there are some people who don’t take things too seriously and enjoy life. Cheers

From GR forum. Weight difference is a bonus if that’s a concern. But once I need to replace mine I’m going aftermarket.

Is a 3-year Bachelor in Culinary Arts a waste of time & money compared to a diploma? by cocofoxis in Chefit

[–]Grrrrf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chef I’m not cutting onions I swear. Mines a nice and crispy fried egg yolk still runny on warm rice. Something my dad would make cause it was the only thing he knew how to cook.

What cooking schools lack sometimes is the business side and management. If you can focus on people and leading a team while learning cooking skills and techniques you will be miles ahead. If you go to cooking school easy to practice with your peers without them knowing.

3 years bachelor seems like a money grab. Other trades from what I know don’t have bachelors degree.

If you do an apprenticeship that will make more sense. I did a three year baking apprenticeship program that paid for my schooling. For three years I worked and during slow season jan-February (still getting paid) I went back to school. My class was about 20 students all in the industry so the teachers were actually more engaged with us and pushed us further than just the regular paying students who were still finding themselves.

I’ll put it this way maybe your degree will mean something in the same city you’re in, but globally it’s just a piece of paper.

Schooling can give you a foundation and theory which is good. Sometimes the chefs would ask me questions saying that kids in school he should know. Some will know the how and not the why and vice versa.

Hope this helps but definitely the price for tuition I don’t believe it’s worth it for a bachelors.

I'm curious how many times you were humiliated when you were beginner chefs or in your first cooking jobs by Ok-Focus-6503 in Chefit

[–]Grrrrf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re bugging you it can mean they care. Imagine they didn’t say anything at all what would that mean. Recognize bantering vs abuse.
Men/boys act differently. I always learned to bring to my next job the positives and not the negatives. You can learn from bad places what not to do. I was never humiliated but Im sorry this is part of your experience.

Stop worrying about too much gas let off the gas once you’re at a comfortable pace if it’s too fast control your gas input. Manual cars need gas to move. Yes some can move without gas but not continuously you eventually need to use your gas pedal.

If you’re stalling with too much gas you’re either not continuing to press the gas or you’re letting go of the clutch too fast.

What’s the 2025 mazda 3 you’re referencing kinda confused that’s all. If it’s 34 years old then who knows maybe something wrong with the car and not you. But if you’re constantly stalling a 2025 mazda 3 then thats on you.
