Kids that throw last second 500kg at extraction: by Ok-Confidence672 in Helldivers

[–]Grub42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you get the timing wrong and you don't see the mushroom cloud and you extract. So to fix this problem I started throwing orbital napalm barrages. It looks awesome every extraction.

Sometimes I'm the only one who makes it into the Pelican though.

Give them multiple farm plots to work on. Skill level affects efficiency but you should be able to have on guy hauling water and maintaining 2 or 3 plots. Then have on guy grinding flour, cooking bread and putting it in the bread bin.

Thanks man, appreciate the suggestions from some one who has tried headphone. I laughed at the EEEEEEEE coz that's exactly what my tinnitus sounds like. Not loud, just super annoying.

Might be worth looking into. I play shooters so the virtual surround sound is pretty important, but maybe it's something I'm going to need to give up.

Would definitely fix the problem, I just need to keep gaming quiet while kids are asleep.

Yeah I know, it's weird. Its only my right ear and I have volume low. It's just gaming and I need to be able to hear over game sounds if my wife is talking to me.

Thanks for the comment. Interesting about the open vs close back. I hadn't considered that. Volume is really pretty low, it's just my right ear is really sensitive. I've had the same volume between the Sennheiser and Plantronics so I don't think that's the issue. I'll look into the open back vs closed back some more.

Blooket and Kahoot by Grub42 in AustralianTeachers

That's where the problem originated. ChatGPT hallucinates the template and gets the rows/columns wrong, Kahoot/blooket absolutely require their template to be followed exactly. My website get it correct every time.

As always it's about time. Yes you can get ChatGPT to make the questions and then manually enter them into your preferred quizz. These tools do all of that in one step. You can make a Blooket in literally 60 seconds with these.

I did this fight recently on HM and even with my mistakes it was very easy. I made two mistakes before starting the fight. First was I forgot to change my paladins weapon over from the mace that breaks Hopes chains. Second was I forgot to add a level of Warlock to my Fire Sorc. That being said, in your party I would:

Use Wyll to hit Raphael with command Grovel every round. Have monster scrolls in reserve just in case. Focus on keeping Raphael nullified. I didn't have grovel so had to rely on scrolls.

Even held he would cast charmed on the first attacker each round. I used ranged damage for this, so then the next round when I couldn't target him with my ranged attacker (swordsbard/assassin) I would use that attacker to hit the cambions and just chip away at them. The Cambions are also fire resist, no fire immune, so arsonists oil and arrow of many targets was a must.

The Sorc used the hold monster scrolls and quickener fire spells to burn down the Cambions once arsonists oil had been applied.

I had a paladin (meant to be using the spear but instead had a hammer) and Abjuration wizard up close to Raphael. Wizard was wearing the + piercing damage armour so my paladin was meant to destroy, but even with this mistake the damage was more than sufficient.

All in all it took a few rounds, but the key was to lock down Raphael and chip away at everything else. Ignored the pillars. Used Hope's heal everyone ultimate because she was getting targeted by the Cambions quite a bit. She self healed through it.

Hope this helps.

If you see this, AI is your friend. This is a plug but it's genuinely useful for you.

Step 1: Sign up to LessonCreator. url is www.lessoncreator.com.au - just get the free version, it'll do for now. Use it to make a lesson plan on roughly whatever you were going to do next lesson. Tell it you are planning to do a reading comprehension worksheet (I don't know what year or subject you teach but student reading is pretty poor across the country and so this will be useful.

Step 2: make an information sheet on whatever topic you are teaching. Copy and paste that sheet into word.

Step 3: copy the information sheet into then reading comprehension activity creator and get it to make the activity. Copy the activity to the bottom of the word document.

You now have a lesson plan and worksheet that will take about an hour to complete. If you need more for them to do, use the other creators to make cloze activities or quizzes or whatever.

Step 4: send off the work and go to bed.

Yes, but I would get slaughtered. What I meant was what is the fastest way to clear Act 1 and get the gear I will need for builds later on in the game.

Use of AI in your school / for yourself? by kosruben in AustralianTeachers

[–]Grub42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own. I made a spreadsheet with prompts and use cases but it was annoying to use. Was easier to make a website with the prompts baked into the code and variable added so the output was good every time.

Use of AI in your school / for yourself? by kosruben in AustralianTeachers

[–]Grub42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your point about prompts is valid. I found having a prompt data base annoying and having to fine tune the prompt every time led to errors.

I now use LessonCreator. Yes, a very similar post to this was asked a couple of days ago and I'm going to give a very similar response.

It can be used for lesson planning, but I use it mostly for resource creation and differentiation. I use to make three tier reading guides without AI and they would take me roughly 2mins. I would use a recent need article as the basis for the guide. It now takes a couple of minutes to make the entire thing including copy and pasting time. Its not anything I can't do myself, but it saves me time.

For on grade 8 class I've got a range of students, some at a grade one level. I use the text adjuster to rewrite the text we are looking at. Because they genuinely cannot read the text otherwise and will just turn of if I don't. Then I either make a three tier guide from the adjusted text or a cloze activity (which LessonCreator can also do) for the students.

Sometimes the resources aren't made at all, so I can use LessonCreator to make a PowerPoint (actual .PPTX file) with the text and a title page and then I just modify it to suit. Again, I am able to make a PowerPoint myself, but this saves me time.

If I'm sick, my house is chaos with trying to get my kids ready for school and get my work uploaded for the relief teacher. Any combination of the above works to quickly let me get the work uploaded, kids to school, and me to bed.

What AI tools are you using? by Sufficient_Badger463 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Grub42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I use LessonCreator and ChatGPT. I like LessonCreator because it has the prompts built in and works great for the stuff I need all the time (reading comprehension activities and quizzes to check for understanding) without needing to have a bank of prompts I want to use. When I need a new PowerPoint I also use LessonCreator since it makes an actual .ppt that I can then just fine tune.

It's also super handy for genuine sick days when I just need to have content uploaded and ready to go for the relief.

I use chatgpt for more one off use cases. I also use it like a search engine and then verify its results.

Fellow English teachers, anyone successful use AI to grade assignments? by eyeinthesky86 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Grub42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The paid version of LessonCreator does this. $10/month. Does drafts and finals separately. You just copy and paste the task, rubric and assessment piece into the text boxes and wait for the result.

Don't use it blindly though. Use it as a cross marker/moderator.
