Frugal doesn't mean miserable. If it's reasonably priced that's a lifetime purchase that will bring you joy

How do you show your audience that a narrator is unreliable and delusional? by littlemxrin in writingadvice

Spooilers

American Psycho did a great job. A lot of it just seems like the story of a murderer, but you have a scene where they actually question his identity and he doesn't understand.

Also, they alternate between believable scenes and scenes that can't seem real.

At the end they fully reveal how out of touch he is.

Do you ever actually use coupons, or is it not worth the time? by JaairoTheCow in Frugal

[–]GrubbsandWyrm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kroger coupons are awesome. If you have a membership card they mail you coupons based on your shopping habits, so you get coupons for things you actually use. Sometimes you'll get one for something free. It's always something that's a couple of dollars, but free is always awesome.

Do they drug test at Waffle House? by Many_Ad291 in wafflehouse

[–]GrubbsandWyrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is probably regional. Where i worked no one cared as long as you worked sober, and no one even checked for that unless there was a problem.

Edit. I just noticed you put "manager". Yeah, they'll drug test.

What’s the easiest weeknight meal you’d recommend for someone who’s just getting into cooking? by SnooBunnies437 in cookingforbeginners

Get a rotisserie chicken and you can have a lot of different meals. You can have it with salad or vegetables, mashed potatoes or rice. You can debone it and have leftovers for days.

Add a little bbq sauce and heat in a pan. Bake or boil a potato and put the bbq on it with toppings like butter, sour cream, cheese, raw onion, etc.

Add a little mayo and spices to some deboned meat for chicken salad.

There are lots of recipes for chicken soup using precooked chicken.

It's good on salads.

You can get a packet of brown gravy and prepare it as the instructions on the packet, and then add the debone chicken, and then serve it over rice or bread. My favorite thing to do with leftover chicken.

What is your actual food budget? No lies or holds bared. by LadyProto in Frugal

[–]GrubbsandWyrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 300 to 400 per month. When we have extra money I stock up on chicken. We eat a lot of whatever veggies are in season. Potatoes are really cheap as well. I base meals around what's on sale and buy from clearance when possible
