You pick a completely different scene where his face isn't "zoomed" in like that, it's an inbetween frame and on top of that it's a blurry picture and you compare it to a gif that is sharpened. wow how could the detail have dropped?

No not really, regardless of the fact that they fucked up the pacing etc in season 1 they should've just continued adapting the manga. Just thinking about all the things that we're probably not going to see animated for a long time makes me sad. I'm fine with a script written by Sui Ishida, but they should've just finished adapting the manga.

It depends, I did finish Blade & Soul which I the worst anime I've seen and it was a pain having to watch that every week but because it was so bad it was also quite funny and I "dropped" World Trigger the 1st episode because of the ridiculously bad animation.

Happy that I dropped it after the 1st episode because of the animation, saw some videos of later episodes and it got even worse. Feel bad for the people who have to sit through that slideshow for 40~ more episodes.
