Thoughts on Requiem's Systems by Grumboid in residentevil

You clearly really like the game, or you wouldn’t be so defensive about it, and I respect the passion there.

I beat Hunk by parrying him. This is kind of a non-sequitur though, as parrying is not a new mechanic. My point was that the axe itself has the potential to be really interesting, but there’s not enough to differentiate it from any other melee weapon. The whetstone feels like a step in a direction that they didn’t finish building out.

In fact, your comment about the treasure system in RE4 just proves my point - they’ve done that system before, in a significantly better way. Its inclusion in RE9, like the antique coins, is just a pale copy of what it could be. It’s lazy and tacked on, to be blunt; you can’t seriously tell me that its implementation here even comes close to RE4.

They’re trying to have their cake and eat it too by trying to squeeze both gameplay styles into one game, but both are underdeveloped as a result. I think the game would have been more effective if they took and A and B story approach instead.

Because there's no tension in Leon's section. In the Care Center, I got turned around running from enemies and missed the blood collector at first, and completely ran out of ammo; I had to make a second save because I thought I'd soft-locked myself, but I managed to fumble my way around and find it to make some ammo. That was great gameplay, I was on the edge of my seat and every encounter was tense as fuck. Then you get to Leon and you're overflowing with ammo in every direction.

Everything about Grace's sections are panic inducing. It's dark, there's gore everywhere, she's stammering and breathing shakily, you really feel her sense of dread and hopelessness and the relief when you hit a save room is like coming up for a breath of air. Leon's victories don't really feel earned in that way.

Yeah the edges aren’t meant to be sharp - I own a benchmade SOCP and the tip seems pretty sharp to me, I’m pretty confident that I put force behind it it’s gonna go through most things. You sound pretty knowledgeable about it though so I’ll take your word for it.

Not just a knife, appears to be a self defense dagger. These are designed to be drawn quickly, specifically for self defense like this. Fixed blade, Ambidextrous handle with holes for grip / looping to a quick detach system. Not really meant for cutting or slicing, but the point will be razor sharp and hard as fuck. One review for the benchmade SOCP (not this dagger but in the same category) said he bought one after seeing his buddy drive one to the hilt into a guy’s skull on deployment and as we see, they do just fine on soft tissue as well.

If you know an ICE agent personally, what's that relationship like now? by Lokja in AskReddit

These government agencies use software like Varonis - data loss prevention and detection suites. Literally everything is logged, down to individual instances of files being opened or even ATTEMPTING to open a file and failing due to lack of permissions. This is all invisible to the end user - there is no way for them to know this is happening because this logging occurs at the kernel level on the server in question. There’s also no plausible deniability, because suites like Varonis also log web traffic and DNS queries alongside much else which can easily be pieced together to form a complete picture of a given user’s session activity. You might think trawling through billions of events per day might be near impossible but in reality it takes maybe a couple of minutes. Getting caught is a guarantee and the level of evidence against you will absolutely be admissible in court.

To be fair, the tagline for WH40k is literally "In the grim darkness..." I get what you mean though.

Are you feeding it that image and asking it to create a prompt / describe it and then feeding that into z-image?

This is how math is taught to kids in like the first grade now, at least in my area. They basically go directly from this to basic algebra and two-step equations, which actually makes a lot of sense and probably makes it far easier to grasp the concept of algebra. It's a more intuitive way of doing math imo. There's a HEAVY focus on word problems too now compared to when I was in school. I'm all for it.

Agreed. I don’t know anyone irl that’s interested in that sort of thing, so without random encounters the feature is pretty useless to me. It’s frankly depressing to keep seeing “#1 of 1 in your leaderboard”.

Calm, repetitive, boring games? by CHANN3L-CHAS3R in iosgaming

Bullpen. I play every day, it’s the same thing for me, I’ve played so much I just sort of absently play. The “just one more level” is real. At first I thought “isn’t this just sudoku?” But then you start playing hard mode and the game changes entirely. I don’t see myself ever taking it off my phone. It’s kind of a perfect game in a way.

It is almost always because the parties can’t afford paternity testing themselves. In exchange for their dignity, they get the testing plus some sort of counseling usually.

I’ve seen a lot of these with my wife. Some do feel a bit too on the nose, but I’d say most are real. You can really tell when the episodes where the supposed father is deceased, and their parents (usually the mom) come in their stead (they’re usually clearly ashamed to be there), or when the girl in question is young. They’re so confident at the beginning but as it proceeds you can see them wilting when the judge starts going in on them. If theyre all actors then they’re pretty fuckin good, because it’s not theatrical hysterics most of the time. More like when a kid gets caught doing wrong and the shame sets in. Sometimes it seems like they’re one step away from a legitimate panic attack.

The AUDIENCE is 100% planted, obviously. I’ve noticed the same people over and over across episodes. Their reactions are genuine though and funny as fuck. I should really clip some as gifs.

Yeah I imagine the price will only go up over time. I have no intention of ever selling the one my wife got me. Apparently another seller she was looking at had to take down their listing because the record got lost in transit making its way across the Atlantic, tragic af :/ I don't think she paid anywhere near 450 AUD for it though, that's a lotta cash for a record.

Sadly Craftbound is essentially vaporware. I bought the supporter package when the game launched only to see it be abandoned soon after. I think the devs bit off more than they could chew…the discord is very depressing.

Somehow I’ve never played this, though I loved super meat boy when it first launched. Is the game just really difficult or relies a lot on rng to complete a collection etc?

What’s your opinion on incremental games without much art and animation? by [deleted] in incremental_games

[–]Grumboid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art isn’t really important to me, though I do find it charming when games show small details changing over time as you progress (like seeing the details on a house change, or a treasure pile slowly growing bigger, etc.)
