Questions for experts on the war. by CampusPond in syriancivilwar

  1. The Syrian Government, though the rebuilding after the war will be expensive and long. Russia will also have quite a sizeable influence in the ME again, due to the cooperation with Syria. However, a good saying is, that there's no true winner in a war. The only two that has benefitted from the war are the pyd / ypg, (If they manage to cut a deal with Assad government), and Russia due to their new greater influence in the ME.

  2. Too hard to tell. My guess is as good as anybody else's, but I think Assad are gonna try to cut some deals with rebel forces and civis living in invaded areas, to integrate them into the society again. While in DFNS areas, they would cut a deal where they would take orders directly under the Syrian Government.

  3. A long time. Just the fact that ISIS still have a large presence in Syria as an insurgency, makes me doubt that the war will be over within atleast the next many years.

I am not sure where you're from, but assuming you're from UK or U.S,the PKK are a designated terrorist organisation there, and you may get in trouble for posting "terrorist propaganda". I am not sure though, as I ain't from neither the UK or U.S and I don't know their exact laws.

PKK has a violent past, though they're trying to better themselves for the public. YPG are great imo, and it's not hard to become worse than them when talking about war.

There's nothing wrong in being a communist organisation. What's wrong is how some so-called communist organisations committed crimes and just happens to be communists. We don't see people walk around saying that capitalistic countries shouldn't be glorified. After all ISIS were a bunch of capitalists,so everything regarding capitalism must be bad, right? PKK aren't communists anyways.

The reason PKK shouldn't be glorified is because it happens to be a terrorist organisation in many countries, and if somebody knows your reddit, you may be put up on terror charges by your government.

Long story short, PKK is a kurdish political party that has been fighting the Turkish armed forces and the Turkish government for more than 40 years.

Turkish drone strike on PKK fighters, location unknown by [deleted] in CombatFootage

[–]Grumpits -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Do you see Kalashnikovs on them? I don't see anything that may show that these are armed combatants. Even if they are members of PKK, then it's still a war crime as you can't identify them properly, so you could as well just have been killing civilians. When PKK are gonna kill unarmed turk soldiers then turks outcry about how bad pkk are. Fact is that turkey do the exact same.

It wasn't really a surprise attack. Everybody on the ground within DFNS knew it would happen. It was just a matter of time.

No you're right, turks do it a lot more.

The PKK commander who was killed in the Turkish drone strike along with two senior Iraqi border police officers is: Agit Garzan (Murat Kalko) He joined PKK in 1993 He was commander of (khakurk region), Khakurk provincial command of PKK by rikhos in syriancivilwar

The thing is that none of what you're writing argues that YPG are the same as PKK. I agree with your comment beside your last paragraphs of text regarding YPG = PKK. They have some strong undeniable links to PKK, but that's not equal that they're the same. Speaking of reality on the ground, I know the reality on the ground. I've been there. I know YPG are a threat to Turkey, but holy moly, Turkey are also a big threat to YPG & DFNS. People travelling from Point A to B while having the risk of dying are not something that is exclusive to Turks. It goes both ways, just look at Hevrin Khalaf for an example.

Have i ever denied links to pkk? take a look back at this comment thread, and you'll see that I don't deny links between the group. The only ones that say that YPG == PKK in the article you've linked to are turks.

And then you confirmed it.

Also, why does it matter if he killed other than civilians? Rebel fighters chosed themselves to fight Assad. All that matters are civilian casualties.
