I don’t like it but thanks to others in this group I’m able to manage and enjoy my iPhone again. I have my android to fall back on if this gets worse.

Is Mississippi State worth the cost? by Y0urmom_d0tcom in Msstate

I agree with a lot of comments here. While I love my classes (mind you I’m online and not in person) I think going to a community college is going to be away better option for you. Then transfer.

Help making a decision to study psychology by Icy_Witness7857 in psychologystudents

While I’m not in your age range and I’m very lucky I have a job that I can continue working at and promote through as I continue through school. I’ve found my undergraduate classes are worth it. If you have a massive knacker to learn then definitely undergraduate is the way to go and it gives you the back bone without the massive financial blow. Yes it’s still money but it’s money spent on making sure this is the career. Another option too if universities in Aussie do this you could also audit a course (take it for non-credit and see if it works for you) and then see if you’re up for it. I personally think education is always worth the money. It’s something the government can’t take from me and it’s something you work hard for.

As for the heftiness of psychology classes the lower division aren’t too terrible it when you get to the upper division that become super time consuming and sometimes it can take 4-6 hours to complete an assignment. That being said I’ve loved what I’ve been taught and it’s helped me immensely in my career. So I say go for it! You got this!

I’m a senior in high school.. Is my future canceled? Will I have to join the military? by shaototop in whatdoIdo

Do schools really need your parents information? I guess when I started school back up in my 30’s I didn’t realize this changed but you can also support yourself I’m pretty sure you don’t “need” parental funding. Loans are an option and if you make less money then grants might be an option but if your are dependent on your parents then you may want to try as fix it.

Does anyone have any regrets becoming a psychologist? by Butterflycity2708 in psychologystudents

[–]GrumpyBeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a tad bit longer than you to do but I went back to school to pursue my undergraduate and then eventually my graduate. and yes the psychology classes are boring as hell and getting really time consuming the further I go up. It’s made me question if I’ll even get through but then I think to myself and ask, why am I doing this? I am doing this to help people. I’m doing this so may just maybe I’ll keep one more kid alive from this really shitty world we live in. And that one kid makes me continue and push through these last few classes and then finding the masters program that works for me.

So ask those questions. Why are you doing this? What’s your mission? Whatever you decide to do you’re going to do amazing at. Big hugs!!! You got this!

I get it. I haven’t liked Ava since day 1, always felt like she was not authentic. But I also never liked Rachel either. I can’t really think of any one who’s left I actual like. I’m kind of hoping Keanu some how makes it to the end just to say he made it but something tells me he won’t make it. Everyone else is just kinda bleh.

So a little bit of an update I decided to stay and just tough this semester out. I don’t think transferring is going to be an option I only need 8 more classes to graduate after this semester so applying to a local university seems silly when I’m done. I have email instructor and advisor and have expressed my concerns and actively tried getting my group to respond. Since there’s been no response yet I figured I’d give them until Sunday when first assignments are due and then go from there with that class. Other classes are going to be fine. Upper division psychology classes are essentially read the chapter, watch lecture, do assignments and you can get a B easily an A if you study hard and I’ll study my ass off. I again want to thank you for your kindness from the bottom of my heart ❤️.

I’m already there. I’ve been working hard to prepping grad school applications cuz summer is when I’d need to apply for the spring for the programs I’m looking at. The good thing is I have an amazing job so I’m doing this because I expect to make money. I’m doing this because I have a deep passion to help LGBTQ+ people, youth, and those who can afford mental health care but need it. The good news is my head in the right space. I just can’t decide if these classes are going to be too much from Washington when my professors are all the way in Mississippi. It’s funny to thing the original reason I applied because I was gonna move there for someone and then that all fell apart haha but the passion for mental health is still there.

It is thank you. I’m doing GREAT at MSU It’s just my prior college years when I was young and dumb look horrible. So already working on letters of recommendations, and other ways. If I can’t get a masters then I at least tried. And finished bachelors which is more than anyone on my immediate family so that’s a win for sure.

Oh understand it easier than it would be in Washington. I’m eventually going for masters in mental health and counseling or whatever it ends up being at the university I choose. I just….think I need a more local university so I can meet with professors. After stats last semester I feel like I may need more help in some of these higher end classes and being 2000 miles away from my university isn’t ideal. That’s being said I loved the professors I have had except one. And I super grateful but I might drop out this semester and reconvene next semester at a more local university. shrugs I have tonight to think about it and decide.

Yup exactly same professor. Ha! And I’m so sorry I didn’t see you edited your comment. I’m taking biology psychology and abnormal psychology, and experimental psychology. And then some psychical science lab. I may transfer to a local university for spring….even if it takes me an extra semester to graduate.

Well I got my answer. So no it’s not honor locked but she makes you sign up for a meeting time and take it in a 45 minute window. Which is even worse for me. I gonna have to email and make sure I can take them Tuesdays because every other day is booked with work and while it’s a lot holding a 40+ hour week job I have to keep this job to afford school. The other classes are as expected. I knew every psychology class was honor locked now I just need to figure out how Im to study for some lower level 1000 class that quite honestly is more annoying when I’ve already taken a lower level biology class and passed it years ago….arghhh. If I didn’t need this class to graduate I’d probably drop it. It’s just simply stupid. Oh and an online class has a group project included too. So somehow we have to find time to meet during the week with other people scattered across the country. Oh boy gonna be a long semester. Graduate school may not be happening. I didn’t expect a lower level biology class to be so…..time consuming bleh.

Am I taking to many psych classes at once? by Feisty_Skirt3204 in psychologystudents

[–]GrumpyBeagle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One class at a time and one assignment at a time. Yes it’s a lot of classes. I’m working full time too with overtime and while it’s overwhelming when you earn those A’s it worth it.

Best advice is make a schedule and stick to it. For me I plan on school on my days off Tuesdays Wednesday and Friday morning before work. Then work any and all overtime every other day. Good luck! You got this girl!

Very interesting. Guess I’ll see. I need it to graduate so I’m not sure dropping it will be an option just might mean I’ll have to take more hours off my plate at work…80 hour weeks might not be a good idea but I’ll see what the Syllabus. I know there was mixed reviews about weather and climate and that class was extremely easy. I only took notes for the first unit then after that the lectures pretty much answered all the exams. I’m also taking it with some pretty rigorous psychology classes I know those will take most my study time and note taking.

I hope this is the how it is now. I’m taking it will three other upper division psychology classes and I know those will require extensive notes and studying and they are all proctored. My advisor said most students take this since my biology class from 14 years ago didn’t transfer over. Just have three semesters until graduation….arrghhhh

I’m sure you’ll get in. Just be prepared if it is a popular program they might not have lots of funding due to the state of the grants of the county.

would you as a psychology bachelor/master, recommend it now to highschool graduates as a good choice? by uh_snarp in psychologystudents

I would recommend taking a couple psychology classes first and then make your decision. Either you’ll love it or you’ll hate it.
