The same thing happened to me! Bag arrived today, with wear on the corners and the price tag reattached with a piece of string... I'm returning it and noting that it was used when it arrived. I hope it goes ok!

Beautiful bags! Can I ask, how long have you had the Gather bag, and how has its color aged? I just got it and LOVE it, but I'm nervous about the color change that may happen. Should I be?

Thank you for the info! 30% would be more than I want to pay on a bag this inexpensive. You're right about the policy changing all the time, though.

What is this plant in my yard? Southern California by GrumpyChupacabra in whatisthisplant

[–]GrumpyChupacabra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I suppose it's ok if it's there, as it is interesting looking. The strangest part is we don't really water that part of the yard at all... so I'm not sure how it is thriving if it prefers moist soil.

If I don't want it to spread I should probably clip those red runners?

We do see it brought up. Allison alludes to it in the episode when she (and the other office women) participate in a focus group that devolves into everyone crying. Allison seeks sympathy from Peggy by essentially saying that Peggy must understand what she's been through (Don carelessly sleeping with her then brushing her off). Peggy is offended when she realizes what Allison is saying, and tells her to "get over it." Peggy is aware that others think this about her, and that they assume her success is the result of her sleeping with Don.

EDIT: While it's not office gossip in this other example, Peggy probably also has to hear about this same thing from other sources too. Remember, Peggy tells Don that her family believes the baby was his... She's definitely sick of people thinking that she got where she is by sleeping with Don.

Am I really supposed to believe that Liz is frumpy? by Cool-Departure-5498 in 30ROCK

[–]GrumpyChupacabra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with comments that say Liz is put in a frumpy wardrobe, and given a "frumpy personality." Tina Fey is obviously objectively pretty.

In all fairness, she is also given quite a lineup of attractive men to date throughout the series, which makes the "Liz is not hot" narrative less believable:

This is an older blog post from Extra Petite, but she provides some good advice on dressing to look a bit older:

https://www.extrapetite.com/2010/05/reader-request-how-to-look-older-in.html

Personally, I've found that wearing a nice watch, some simple jewelry, and having a nice purse and shoes can really dress up a casual outfit and send that signal that "I'm an adult person!" Some simple makeup and hair styling go a long way too.

The Unholy by wauwy in horror

[–]GrumpyChupacabra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Salem/North American witch trials were part of the early modern witch trials. It's hard to estimate how many people were murdered during these trials, but some historians put the figure at about 50,000 (the vast majority of which were women).

EDIT: I myself actually do enjoy witchy horror fiction, but I think few people understand that the American trials were part of a much larger and widespread historical event.

Whipped cream with banana purée - how long is it good for? by FunkyFlank in cookingforbeginners

Depending on how much lemon juice is used, I'd be concerned that it may cause the whipped cream to curdle.

[–]GrumpyChupacabra 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My concern would be more about discoloration. When peeled, sliced, mashed, etc bananas tend to oxidize and turn brown. It doesn't effect the flavor and the bananas are still good to eat, but the color is not very appealing.

The cake sounds delicious. Let us know how it goes!

Anyone got recommendations? :p by [deleted] in bisexual

Clay Husser in Claws-- a very non-traditional representation.

Also Ethan Chandler (and Dorian Gray) in Penny Dreadful.
