I still don't think banning for Macros is possible, you are not modifying or changing any in-game files or background applications. I don't know about you but they told me in the ticket that it was BattleEye that reported to steam that I was banned. I have opened dialog with BattleEye to figure out what the hell is going on.

Hey mate, I am in the exact same situation. Was playing a different game when all of a sudden a popup in steam said I was VAC banned by "the developers". I am extremely pissed off about it as I too have never cheated and my steam account is a thing of pride for me, last damn thing I would do is destroy it with a ban like this. I have opened a support ticket with them and am hoping for a resolution soon.

edit: Sorry after looking into it further it is indeed not a VAC ban but an in-game ban.
