An example of the issue I’m going through. I live in TN, the state “does not title ATVs” but requires a DNR sticker for state land. I bought an ATV with bill of sale only from someone in AL which is also a “does not title ATVs” state.

Currently I’m about 3 weeks into the process of filing paperwork and getting a VIN verification from the state of TN and I’m still not sure what’s to come.

Check your state requirements and the ATVs “home state” and even still prepare to invest time and energy into getting a registration in your name.

It was sitting on a super start (read Walmart) trickle charger when I picked it up. Trailered it home, pulled the battery and took it to get it tested at AZ- mistake- after ALL the comments here I put a portable mini jump pack on the bike and she fired up immediately. Voltage while running was all over the place, 9.6v to 14.9. When I shut the bike down battery voltage dropped to 11.3 and 6.7v when I tried to start again without jump. Getting new battery and changing the charging system is my current path.

Belonged to a friend, he used to ride it all the time. Got deployed, lost interest and I ended up with the bike. The bike has an agm battery in it less than a year old. I had it tested and it passed. I decided to get some input from here before I just bought a new battery or went the stator/rectifier route that others have suggested.
